Former Sun Certification History Now in CertView

Certification history for Java, Solaris (Cluster), Oracle Solaris (Cluster), MySQL, NetBeans, and OpenOffice.org Certifications is now available in CertView, where you can access your certification history, download logos and verify your certification(s) to a third party. Begin using CertView in two easy steps:
  1. Create an Oracle Single Sign-On (SSO) if you do not already have one.
  2. Authorize your CertView account, using the following information from your Pearson VUE profile:
  • Full Name
  • Email Address
  • City
  • Oracle Testing ID

Note that you have three attempts to authorize your account. After three unsuccessful attempts, your account will be queued for manual review. You will receive confirmation from the review team within three business days. It is thus very important that you enter your information exactly as it is in your Pearson VUE profile so that you can start using CertView right away.

If you have not yet created your Pearson VUE web account, watch this video below on How to Create Your New Pearson VUE Account:

Watch our Oracle Certification CertView "overview" video below as well for step-by-step instructions on authorizing your CertView account:

If you still need further assistance, please contact suncert_ww@oracle.com.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I tried to enter my information three times and now I am locked out of the system. Can you help?
You have three attempts to enter your information exactly as it is in your Pearson VUE profile. After the third attempt, the account will be referred to the Customer Service team for manual processing. You should receive notification that your account has been authorized within three business days.

I have gained access to my account, but I don't see any exams that I took at Prometric in my exam history.
Oracle has only uploaded "certification" history (not exam history) from CertManager, except in cases where a candidate took a Part I exam at Prometric and still needs to complete Part II. In those specific cases, the exam history was uploaded so that the certification rules will be activated once the remaining exam(s) have been completed. For all other cases you will only see your certification history in CertView. From this point on however - any exams that you take with Pearson VUE will show up in your exam history in CertView.

I authorized my account with information from my Pearson VUE profile, but still cannot see my Sun Certification history.
When you created your Pearson VUE web account, it's possible that (1) you may have missed entering your Prometric ID, or (2) Pearson VUE may have been unable to match your new web account with one of the records that were migrated from CertManager. In either of those cases, you would have been issued a new Oracle Testing ID. If you have an Oracle Testing ID that is different from your Prometric ID, your records are not under the same profile. You will need to request for Pearson VUE to merge these two IDs. Go to pearsonvue.com/oracle/idmerge and submit the merge request. If you have authorized your CertView account using your Oracle Testing ID, you should request for this ID to be the 'Surviving ID.' If you need assistance, please contact suncert_ww@oracle.com.

Java Certification Exams and Their Move to Pearson VUE

After four weeks of unacceptable delay my certification history is incomplete. Exams taken with Prometric on May 30th are not even shown!. Which excuse this time?. Congratulations for such a great work Oracle!. Long life to Sun.

How Prometric ID merge to Oracle Testing ID?

Posted by guest on July 10, 2011 at 06:19 PM PDT #

As stated in the blog post above, exam history was not uploaded to CertView, except in cases where a candidate had completed a Part I exam at Prometric and still needs to complete the Part II exam at Pearson VUE. If you are in this category and your Part I exam does not show up in your CertView exam history, please contact suncert_ww@oracle.com and they will assist you with getting this sorted.

Regarding IDs: If you created your Pearson VUE web account without entering your Prometric ID, you probably now have 2 IDs. In order to get the two merged, you need to contact Pearson VUE at pearsonvue.com/oracle/idmerge.

Same as the first comment: I had part 1 in the old cert space, and took part 2 on May 31th at prometric. Both are shown on prometric. I created a pearson with the prometric id (SRxx). Nothing shows up in pearson. Certview auth totally failed (pearson screen data side to side, copy/paste!). I requested a (re-?)merge. I'm totally disappointed.

Posted by fc on July 12, 2011 at 08:13 AM PDT #

FC,
Pearson VUE will only show exam history for exams taken at Pearson VUE. CertView will not contain exam history for Sun and Oracle exams taken at Prometric, unless a candidate is only mid-way through a multi-exam path. If you took both of your exams at Prometric, these exams will not show in your CertView history. If your CertView authorization failed, as mentioned in the post above, your account will be queued for manual review and authorization. You should hear from the support team within 5 business days.

I pass Solaris 10 part I at Prometric and part II at Pearson VUE (07/02/2011 mm/dd/yyyy), but I don't see my Solaris Success Kit in CertView.
I contact suncert_ww@oracle.com but no reply.
Why?

Posted by guest on July 13, 2011 at 08:22 PM PDT #

I'm in the same boat fc. I took first part april, the second may 15th. Both of them at Prometric. Exam I shows up in Certview, but not exam II. I give up.

Posted by tofuninjah on July 14, 2011 at 01:04 PM PDT #

If you passed Part I at Prometric and Part II at Pearson VUE, and you are not seeing both exams and your certification in your CertView record, one of two things may be the issue.

1) First, do you have two IDs? If you did not enter your Prometric ID when you created your Pearson VUE web account, you may have been issued a new Oracle Testing ID. Login to your Pearson VUE web account to see what your Oracle Testing ID is. If it does not match your Prometric ID, then you have 2 IDs and you need to submit a request to have them merged at pearsonvue.com/oracle/idmerge.

2) If you took both exams under the same ID, you Prometric exam may not have uploaded properly for some reason. Contact suncert_ww@oracle.com and provide as much information as possible: exam, date taken, Prometric ID. It can take up to 3 business days to receive a response.

My certification history is still incomplete. I received an email from OCP Team promising that I would be able to access to the whole history by mid July. I can't see the whole certification history yet.

"Exams conducted on last week of May 2011 are suffering a slight delay in the transfer process. We expect that all records will be uploaded by mid July 2011. You will be able to view your certification history, download your logos and verify your certification to a 3rd party at that time".

What does Oracle think "slight" mean?. How long do we have to wait this time?. How long does it takes to migrate a DB?. I offer my services to Oracle if they need help...

P.D.: In my company someone would had been fired so long ago...

Sripathi,
You should check your account at certview.oracle.com to ensure that you have completed all the steps to become certified and that your certification shows up in your record. There are suggested steps in CertView to request a reship of your certificate.

When registering a new user for Oracle cert manager, it shows "Business Phone" and "Company" as required fields. Those should not be required fields.
What if I am a undergraduate student or MSc student, or I have resigned from my previous job and applying for new jobs after some time. You should have consider those use cases before deciding what are the required fields etc.

:(

When authorizing your account for CertView, you only enter information that is already entered into your Pearson VUE account. You don't actually enter any new information. Maybe you're referring to creating your Oracle Single Sign-On? I am not sure why Oracle Corporate would require a business phone and company name. Were you unable to create your Oracle Single Sign-On because of this requirement? If you are having trouble creating your Oracle Single Sign-On, you can find more information (including contact information) here http://bit.ly/oxZf8T.

Dear,

I am Oracle 10g OCP and did it from prometric, now I want to write upgrade exam from pearsonvue, what will be the scenario, as I am unable to see the history in pearsonvue.

How to get the previous certification history in pearsonvue from prometric.

Hi brandye barrington

I`m also Pursuing Oracle Solaris OCP Certificate , I passed Part I at Prometric and Part II at Pearson VUE , and I did the ID Merge successfully but the Part I Exam is not uploaded to Certview so far and as a result I wasn't recognized as OCP Certified , you may find the suncert_ww@oracle.com response below

(Please note currently you will not be able to the Part I exam in the exam history tab. Once you pass the Part II exam, your credentials will be updated in Certification Status tab.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused)

so is this a professional work , they are asking me to redo an exam that cost me $300 and I passed in it two years ago ,and for the ID Merge process it happened correctly as I had another exam for SUN that was imported to certview successfully but not the solaris part I exam

please help

Posted by Firas Tahir on July 20, 2011 at 01:30 AM PDT #

Took and passed the Sun Solaris Admin Part 1 from Prometric in 2009, it's not showing on Oracle Certview under Exams. I am taking the part 2 on Pearson Vue tomorrow and I'm scared that it will not merge with the 1st one since it's not on Oracle's Certview.

Posted by guest on July 21, 2011 at 10:23 AM PDT #

@Asad, Your Prometric exam history will not be viewable in your Pearson VUE account. You will only see exams in your Pearson VUE account that you took at Pearson. You can view your exam history at certview.oracle.com. If you have difficulty viewing your history in CertView, please contact Oracle Certifciation Support http://bit.ly/f39Dny.

@Firas, I did not read that they were asking you to re-do any exam. They are saying that, at this time, you will not be able to view the Part I exam in your history. But once you have completed the Part II exam, the certification will be granted. From your posting, I see that you have already passed the Part II exam. If this certification is not yet showing up in CertView, reply to suncert and explain to them that you have passed both exams, providing the ID you used for each exam and also which was the surviving ID when you had your IDs merged. You should have have to re-take any exams. The customer service team will help to get to the bottom of this.

@Guest, please contact suncert_ww@oracle.com for assistance with this issue. It is my understanding from the response that Firas above recieved, that Part I exams are not showng up yet in CertView but on the back end, the passing of this exam is being recognized in the database for the purposes of certification.

I'm guest in post #6. This is OCP Team answer (07/18/2011): "Kindly note that your Oracle Certified Professional, Oracle Solaris 10 System Administrator will be processed in the coming weeks. There will be a slight delay in processing the success kits due to the transition."

But now I still can't see any update in certview yet.
When will this slight delay finish?

Posted by ts on July 23, 2011 at 01:16 AM PDT #

TS,
During the transition, there was a period in which the records were put into a "holding pattern" for lack of a better description. These records have been submitted to be uploaded into CertView. They should show up in CertView within a few weeks. That is the best information I have at this time. The customer service team at suncert_ww@oracle.com should have more up-to-date information than I.

We understand that candidates are anxious to see their results in CertView and we are committed to ensuring that the records are loaded properly. We appreciate everyone's patience as we move through this transition process.

Hi there ts,

I´ve had the same reply since I first checked that my certification history was incomplete in the new Certview app. The last answer that I got from suncert_ww on July 22 "kindly informs me that my certification history will be updated and my success kit processed in 2 weeks".

It seems that "slight" also means "undefined" ,"no clue", or "whenever" in the Oracle language.

An unacceptable delay and a complete disaster from Oracle.

I have already created my Pearson vue account with the same ID as of Prometric and evrything has been done successfully accept that its not showing anything except my Demographic information in my CertView Account. Its been more than 10 days and I need my certificate as soon as possible.. Plzzz Help...!!!

Sudeep,
Please contact suncert_ww@oracle.com. They should be able to assist. It seems that there are 2 issues here: 1)your certification is not showing in CertView and 2) you have not received your certificate. The support team will be able to have a look and determine why your certification is not showing in CertView. Regarding your certificate, I believe that there was a delay in shipping certificates during the transition. They should be able to look at your specific account and give you an estimate for when you should receive your certificate.

Brandye, suncert_ww is kindly informing everyone that there is a slight delay in transition process for exams conducted on last week of May 2011. This is all you will get from them, and a couple of months later the issue remains the same.

Some questions arise...

Where is Mr. Paul Sorensen (Oracle Certification director)?.

Doesn't he fancy a nice post with a video to explain this disaster?.

Do Oracle plan any kind of compensation?.

I read that the new deadline for Certview exam history update was settled in two weeks from July 22. Any truth in that?.

Thanks.

Hi ,
I am Srikrishnan.
I completed SCJP 1.5 in July 2009 through Prometric.
I received the Certificate in Hard copy.
Previously, I was able to view my certification details and logo in
http://www.certmanager.net/sun.
Now When I tried to login, it showed some message like
,"You are not authorized to view this page".

Then I read Oracle Blog and they told that they
have changed to pearsonvue and they told to create a pearsonvue
account by mapping with Prometric ID.I was able to
create Pearsonvue account by mapping Prometric ID.

Recently, Oracle blog told that those who took earlier exam in Prometric can view their certification details in certview.oracle.com.
I followed the steps what they have told.
I created SSO account.
when I tried to enter the Oracle Testing ID (from pearsonvue) , I got an error like 'First Invalid Attempt'.
I believe that the Information I entered were correct.
I dont know what went wrong.
Can any body please help me?

My doubt is,
If we did not merge Prometric ID with the Pearson Vue account,
what will happen to the validity of the Certificate ?
Is it mandatory to do this?

Thanks,
Srikrishnan

Posted by guest on August 01, 2011 at 09:37 AM PDT #

Srikrishnan,
I am unsure of why your account was unable to authorize. If you have 2 IDs, this would be part of the problem. My suggestion is - go ahead and try again to authorize your account. If you have 3 failed attempts, your account will be sent to the support team to be processed manually. They will provide a resolution within 3 business days.

You should also ensure that you have only one ID. If you have a Prometric ID and an Oracle Testing ID, you should request to have these IDs merged at personvue.com/oracle/idmerge.

If you need assistance with this process, please contact suncert_ww@oracle.com. Before you contact suncert though, you should go ahead and use all of your attempts to authorize your CertView account so that your account will be referred to them. We apologize for the nature of this process, but once you have made it through this, your account will be easily accessible.

@Guest,
You may be confused. The exam you mention '70-680' is not an Oracle exam. Also, Oracle exams are not offered at Prometric. If you took an Oracle Certification exam at Pearson VUE, you should be able to view your exam in your Pearson VUE exam history at pearsonvue.com/oracle.

After 48 hours, you should also be able to view the exam in your exam history in CertView.oracle.com. You will authorize your CertView account, using profile information from your Pearson VUE account.

If you need further assistance, please contact Oracle Certification Support http://bit.ly/f39Dny.

To all candidates:
We only received the Sun logos in one format that was usable in CertView. We have uploaded the EPS versions of the logo to CertView for your use. We now have the logos in other formats and we are working with the development team to get these additional formats uploaded to CertView. In the mean time, if you need a logo in a different format, please contact suncert_ww@oracle.com and they will be able to assist.

If you need status on your kit, or need assistance with items showing up in your CertView profile, please contact suncert_ww@oracle.com. They will be able to assist.

hi Brandye,

I read the complete blog and your valuable comments. thanks ! Almost all, of my doubts are already cleared after reading this blog.

But I do have one doubt and I am in need of your urgent help..

I completed my "Oracle Java Enterprise Edition 5 Web Component Developer Certified Professional" on 28th June, 2011. But so far I didn't receive the certification kit. I need to show the certificate to my manager. But as per Oracle Policy, I will receive the certification kit in 45 days. I agree and no problem with that !

But, would like to know.. is there any other way, I can see my certificate on-line ( not the score card ) so that, I can show the soft copy to my manager. that would really help me !

Please help to know the solution.

I have shown the score card.. but I need Certificate (anything .. if Hard copy is not possible then, soft copy will work )

thanks in advance !

Hi Vinit,
In your CertView account, you can publish your credential to your manager. Go to the 'Publish Credential to a 3rd Party' tab and select the certification that you want to verify. You will enter the email address of the person(s) who needs verification. Your manager will receive two emails - one with a unique URL and one with a password. He will use these to access the official online verification of your certification.

Regarding your score sheet, you can print the score report on the Pearson VUE website at pearsonvue.com/oracle. However, you should be aware that you score report may not be used to imply certification under any circumstance. The only items you may use for proof of certification are the official Oracle Certificate, The official Oracle Certification ID card (if one was included in your success kit) or verification through CertView (certview.oracle.com).

@Ginni, If you are not an employee of an Oracle PartnerNetwork company, simply skip that part of the registration process. If you need assistance setting up your Pearson VUE web account, you can call Pearson VUE pearsonvue.com/oracle/contact.

Hi

I am in the certification process to get the OCMJD. I already finished the assignment project and some minutes ago I tried to upload my solution through the Pearson Vue site, but when I clicked on the button to continue with the essay and upload my jar file an error appears in the Pearson web page, the assignment went automatically to Taken status with no posibility to upload my solution. When I click on the link to request my score a PDF file is downloaded with a C# error trace as content.

I am in a hurry since the deadline to finish with the certification path under the old Sun schema is next September 30. I already send a mail to Pearson support, is there some help that I could get from Oracle side? I will really appreciate it.

Thanks!

This is something that Pearson VUE will need to assist with. You should have a resolution fairly quickly. Please go ahead and take the Essay so that you'll have both parts of this path completed before the deadline.

Merges should not take very long. Please contact Pearson VUE to find out the status of your request. You can find contact numbers for your region at perasonvue.com/oracle/contact.

Hi,
I passed my OCJP exam on April 28, 2011, I was wondering if I have to create a new account at certview because I can't log in, I already tried recovering both my user name and my password using the e-mail address I used when checking my history at integral 7, but it keeps telling me that an e-mail has been sent but I don't recieve any e-mail for username recovery.

Hi;
I am megha .

please update my database informations.
please help me.

Hi Megha,
It looks like you have ended up with two IDs. You will need to request for Pearson VUE to merge the two IDs at pearsonvue.com/oracle/idmerge. Approximately 48 hours after you have recieved confirmation that the accounts have been merged, CertView will show the updated information. The reason that your Web Component Developer certification has not yet been granted is that your earlier certification is under on e ID (SRXXXXX) and your Web Compenent Developer exam is under a different ID (OCXXXXX), so the database does not recognize you as the same person.

Once you merge the IDs, all of your records will show under the same account CertView and the certification will be granted. Two additional notes: 1) Only exams that you took at Pearson VUE will show in your Pearson VUE exam history. 2) For certifications received and exams taken through Sun, only certification history will show in CertView, exam history for Sun exams taken prior to May 2011 will not show in CertView.

Long live SUN...
Oracle has disrupted everything.
Why they want to remove everything named SUN. What was wrong if it works with the Brand Sun...revenue was still yours....

Hi,

I am a Sun Certified java Programmer, took the test in June 2010 via Prometric Testing center. I am able to see the history in "certmanager.net". However I don't see a link to download the logo. I created an account in Oracle and PearsonVue and these sites don't show my credential in test history.

Could some one please assist me to find the logo?

Thanks,
Kasi

Posted by guest on January 15, 2012 at 04:12 PM PST #

@Karthik, It depends on which certification you want to pursue next. If you want to upgrade to the SE 7 version, you will need to pass the exam 1Z0-805 http://bit.ly/pVjt5y.

@Kasi, You can download logos from certview.oracle.com. If you have already authorized your CertView account and are not seeing your certification history, then what has happened is that a new ID was created for you when you created your Pearson VUE account. If you received an ID from Pearson VUE starting with 'OC' then you will need to go to pearsonvue.com/oracle/idmerge and request that this ID is merged with your Prometric ID so that all of your records will report under one account.

I have cleared the OCPJP6 exam.Actually i have logged in to Pearson vue and i can see the exam history there. But I am not able to do so in 'certview'. i have made two attempts and they have not verified my information. Is the information we enter there , case sensitive?I am scared to make the third attempt as the account will be locked for few days.Help!

Posted by guest on January 23, 2012 at 01:18 AM PST #

Go ahead and make your 3rd attempt. This will push the account for manual authorization so that you can go ahead and get your account authorized and start using CertView.

I passed all Oracle DBA exams before 2009 through prometic , now i am planning to give Oracle 11g upgrade exam. My prometic testing ID is valid for giving the exam in Pearson vue because all my credentials and exam history are accessible in certview .

Please clearify it.

shahzad

Posted by shahzad on April 24, 2012 at 05:39 PM PDT #

Shahzad,
Yes, your Prometric ID is valid. You will need to provide your testing ID as well as your information as it was in your Prometric account in order to create your Pearson VUE web account and have it associated with your prior ID. You may be better off in this situation to call Pearson VUE for assistance - to ensure that your account is set up properly and you are not assigned a new ID. You can find Pearson VUE contact info at pearsonvue.com/oracle.

I have managed to get my Sun certificate shown up in CertView.

The 1st video did not work for me, here's how I did it:
1. During the Pearson VUE registration, I chose "NO" for "previous test history" (which is different from the video). I tried "YES" first time but it didn't work out in the end.
2. For name, email, address, telephone and everything else, I used exactly the same info as in Prometric.
3. When my Pearson account is created, I can see my Prometric ID been used as the oracle test ID.
4. I then go to Oracle CertView, created an oracle account, and authorized my account using the oracle test ID, full name and city etc.
5. Now in CertView, I can see all my previous Sun certificates

Hope someone finds this useful.

Posted by guest on May 24, 2012 at 08:46 AM PDT #

Thanks for your comments. I would caution other users to follow the video steps to avoid creating a new testing ID which will only cause problems in the long run. Glad you got your account set up correctly and are up and running.

Hi,
I had completed sun certification via pro metric in 2007. Following the video above i created a pearson vue account by giving my prometric candidate ID. But an account with a new Oracle Testing ID was created.
Next, I went to CertView and tried to authorize my account using this ID but failed after 3 attempts.
Oracle then fixed the issue and I was able to login to CertView and also able to see my previous sun certification. But the ID shown here is the prometric ID.

Please let me know if I need to merge the two IDs and which ID should be used for scheduling future tests.

Thanks,
Sandeep

Posted by Sandeep on June 27, 2012 at 12:36 PM PDT #

Hi Sandeep,
You'll definitely need to merge the two IDs. You can do so at pearsonvue.com/oracle/idmerge. Since your CertView account is set up under your Prometric ID, it is best if you select your Prometric ID as the "surviving ID" when you contact Pearson VUE.

hi,
I have completed my 1ZO-007 Introduction to Oracle-9i:SQL certification in March-2011. the test was unproctored. please tell me how to get the certification history.

Posted by ankita on July 28, 2012 at 09:37 AM PDT #

Ankita,
If you only passed the 007 exam, you are not certified and you will not yet have a Certification History. This exam is the first exam in the path of several certifications. You can view your exam history at certview.oracle.com. You will need to go to certification.oracle.com to choose the certification you wish to pursue and see the certification requirements.

Good luck on your path.

I'm trying to find a site online to verify my SCJP. Oracle now owns Sun/Java. I've searched until I'm blue in the face(actually red). Can someone advise where to do this. It's not Personvu. Thanks.

Posted by Brian on August 16, 2012 at 06:54 PM PDT #

Hi Brian,
You can go to certview.oracle.com. Just be sure that you don't have more than one Oracle Testing ID. When you created your Pearson VUE account, did you enter your Prometric ID? Did Pearson VUE send you a new ID? If they did not, then you're golden. If they did, then you have 2 IDs and you'll need to contact Pearson at pearsonvue.com/oracle/idmerge in order to get the IDs merged and ensure that all of your records are under one account.

Posted by guest on September 03, 2012 at 05:46 AM PDT #

I'm not 100% sure what you mean. Did you complete one or more exams in a multi-exam path and now the remaining exams in your path have been retired?

Hi Bharat,
You should visit certview.oracle.com to see if all of your requirements are recorded in your history. It is very possible that you may have completed components of your certification requirements under different IDs. There will be instructions in the Certification Status>Certification history tab to follow up on your certification success kit.

Brandye Barrington

Posted by guest on October 10, 2012 at 12:45 PM PDT #

Why would anyone not want their certification status to be publicly viewable? There is no sensible case for making the information private. The reason for certification is to prove ones competence to third parties. If an HR rep cannot verify what is stated on a resume then what is the value in having it on ones resume? If certification cannot be verified quickly with common information such as name or SSN then it has no value.

Posted by T Rob Darrough on February 06, 2013 at 05:53 PM PST #

T Rob,
We have actually put that power directly in your hands. You can provide verification of your certification to whomever you wish through CertView. Go to certview.oracle.com, select the Publish Credentials to 3rd Parties tab and follow the instructions.

The value of certification is more than a piece of paper. Much of the value of certification comes from the intensive time spent preparing for your certification exam. The breadth and depth of knowledge and skills that you develop during this process is the main value in getting certified.

Please i seriously need your help, so i can receive my certificate...
Thanks Stephen

Posted by Stephen on May 07, 2013 at 08:04 PM PDT #

Stephen,
You should go to certview.oracle.com to view your exam and certification history. A couple of things may be the issue here - 1) you may have taken your exams at Prometric, so Pearson VUE would not have a record of them. Or, you may have taken exams under different Oracle Testing IDs. Start with CertView.

Hello,

In 2007 I passed the exam of the SCJA certification when Java still was with Sun Microsystens ...

Recently, I created an account with my email in certview.oracle.com, but when trying to retrieve my 2007 certification from Sun in the Oracle Certview system i had put my Oracle account in manual process, probably because i haven't entered some information as it was in Sun systens ..

Can someone help me to recover this Sun's certification in the new system of certifications from Oracle? Note: The email suncert_ww@oracle.com isn't working anymore
