Java, Oracle Solaris, MySQL and Other Former Sun Certification Exams Now Being Delivered At Pearson VUE

Effective June 1, 2011 - Java, Oracle Solaris, MySQL, and NetBeans certification exams are being delivered through our new test delivery vendor — Pearson VUE — and are no longer available through Prometric. This consolidates all Oracle Certification exams within the operations of a single testing vendor, allowing us to best streamline our processes and service. Pearson VUE currently offers certification testing in more than 5,000 test centers worldwide, and we believe this will provide excellent service and global testing coverage for these Oracle certification exams.

Candidates can now visit Pearson VUE to find more information, register for an exam or locate a testing center in their area. Note that existing Oracle exam vouchers will continue to be valid as long as they have not expired.

ACTION REQUIRED
It is important that you create a Pearson VUE account now so that you can continue to register for Oracle Certification exams:

  • Go to MyAccount on Pearson VUE and select Create A New Web Account and follow the prompts to create a profile and enter your contact information. See our tutorial video as well as these detailed steps for reference.
    • Please note that your Prometric exam history will not show in your Pearson VUE account. Sun Certification history will soon be available to candidates at CertView. Please visit the Oracle Certification Blog for continued updates.
  • IMPORTANT: Be sure to enter your profile and contact information on the next screens as it exists in your Oracle profile at CertManager, as the system will perform an automated process to match the record you are creating with the record that was uploaded from Oracle.
    • If Pearson VUE is not able to match your record, you will be placed in a queue and will be contacted by Pearson VUE within 72 hours for verification.

Also, if you schedule a Java, Oracle Solaris (Cluster), MySQL, or NetBeans exam with Pearson VUE between May 16, 2011 and August 1, 2011, you will receive access to a set of practice questions at no cost. For more information, view our full announcement and Frequently Asked Questions online at certification.oracle.com.

Hi Oracle, I am studing to get the Oracle Certified Master, Java EE 5 Enterprise Architect, and how you know the time left to 31 of July of 2011 is very short, so I decided to accelerate the study process. Recently (31 of May of 2011) I pass the Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Exam (Step 1 of 3) (1Z0-864), Now I want to take the Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Assignment (Step 2 of 3) (1Z0-865), but when I login on pearson vue web page to pay for that "Assignment", I realize that the price of this is $300, when the other parts (EXAM 1Z0-864 and ESSAY 1Z0-866) have a cost of $125 in my country Colombia (a Developing country). Is posible that I can pay $125 for the Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Assignment (Step 2 of 3) (1Z0-865) ? if so, please tell me Urgent how can I do for pay that Thank you in advance

Hi, Oracle: With this transition the old certmanager had become unavailable ('You Are Not Authorized' is shown after login). I had passed SCJP at May 6 but now I am unable to trace the deliver progress due to this problem. It just makes me wonder what's the propose of this setting (making old test takers unable to view)? And Where is the new site used to trace the progress? I know the account in Pearson VUE can view the history but that's for new takers. If Oracle can provide answer to my problem, it will be thankful. Thanks

I can no longer login on integral7. Do we need to create an account by ourselves on CertView ?

Posted by guest on June 05, 2011 at 10:21 PM PDT #

Dear Guest, Integral 7 is no longer avaialble. We are currently loading all certification history data into CertView. Once you have received notification that Sun historical certification data is available in CertView, you will go to certview.oracle.com and authorize your account. Until then, you will not have an account to authorize in CertView. Notification will be provided in late June or early July on this blog. Regards, Brandye Barrington

Alvin, you may trace the delivery process of your certificate by contacting suncert_ww@oracle.com. You should wait 6-8 weeks from completing your final certification requirement to receive your certificate in the mail. CertView will be available to all former Sun candidates in late June or early July. At that time, you will be able to view your certification history. We will make the announcement here, on this blog when the records are available. We will also provide instructions for validating your CertView account. Regards, Brandye Barrington

- I passed solaris exams recently. There was tons of typo errors, line joins at eol (making all answers waiting for input in real world, and theorically wrong then) and even logically impossible answers question (a unchecked modified example from sun's study guide) ! Who's messing this ? - Regarding some exams post July, course are now mandatory. What about individuals ? Keeping the exam price high is necessary to limit the multiple tries... but individuals can't afford to pay thousands of dollars from their own. They also might be unable to lock a whole week for a course. What about these cases ? Is certs now for companies members only ? - Buying the Mandatory course for buying the exam can be illegal according the Tied sales regulations in some countries. - Mysql new exam prices were wrong. But it's fixed now.

Dear Guest, You have outlined a whole list of issues in your post. First, if you encountered errors and issues with the exam, please provide this information to our customer support team http://bit.ly/f39Dny. Please provide as much detail as possible, being as specific as possible so that they can pass the information to the development team. It is possible that you took your exam at Prometric and these issues have already been resolved as the exams were carefully reviewed before publishing at Pearson VUE. Second, regarding the training requirement: Our goal is not to price individuals out of the moarket. Our goal is to bring these certification paths in line with existing Oracle certification paths. We understand that this makes it a bit more difficult for individuals to become certified, but it also adds value to the certification and deters those who would purchase dumps, pass an exam for which they had memorized the items and get certified with no real knowledge of the subject. Many candidates find the WDP https://workforce.oracle.com/pls/wdp/new_home.main or Oracle Academy https://academy.oracle.com/ programs helpful in defraying some of the cost. Perhaps you could look into one of those programs if you need to. Oracle has required training for many of their certifications since 2002 and we have certified many individuals over this time span. We wish you the best in your certification path and hope that you can see the value that the training requirement adds to the certification(s). Regards, Brandye Barrington

I finished Oracle Certified Master, Java EE 5 Enterprise Architect part-1 from Prometric. To speed up part 2-3, as indicated one now needs to register with Pearson VUE and match profile info with certmanager.net/sun. I am not authorized to login to certmanager.net/sun(though I have valid credentials) so I provided profile information that I remember best along with Oracle Testing ID. I got a warning message that info doesn't match with existing records but it allowed me to continue the registeration process. I would receive username and password later but keeping in mind that system found a conflict, is there anything I can do about it? I really don't want to waste more time fixing this as there are hardly 6 weeks to left to finish the exams before new structure gets effecting on 1st August. Request your help.

Do we need to create new account in CertView OR Integral 7 account details would work in Oracle CertView. What do you recommend.

Hello All, certmanager.net/sun is no longer available. At this time, legacy Sun certification records are not available in CertVeiw. These records will be available in CertView soon. Please subscribe to our blog to receive notification when these records are available in CertView. Some points to remember -)certifiation history for legacy Sun certifications will be in CertView, not exam history; -)exam history will be available in CertView for ONLY those candidates who completed part of a multi-exam certification path at Prometric and need to continue the path at Pearson VUE; -)candidates do not need to create a new account in CertView, they will only need to authorize their CertView accounts -)candidates will not be able to authorize their CertView accounts until the data is avialable in CertView (announcement will be made on this blog when records are updated); -)Your Pearson VUE web account should be created under your Prometric ID (now referred to as Oracle Testing ID); -)If you need to verify your data from CertManager, you can contact suncert_ww@oracle.com for this information. They should be able to assist. Regards,

Dear Guest, regarding your Pearson VUE web account. CertManager is no longer available. You should have heard back from Pearson VUE today with your account information. If they have assigned you a new Oracle Testing ID, you will need to go to pearsonvue.com/oracle/idmerge and request to have your Oracle Testing ID merged with your Prometric ID. Hopefully they were able to match your accounts and a new ID was not generated. If you have not heard anything from Pearson VUE yet, please contact them at pearsonvue.com/oracle. Please note that the training requirement deadline has been changed to Sept 30, 2011. The updates should go live on the website next week. Regards,
Brandye Barrington

I have the SCJP, OCPWCJD, OCPBCJD and passing Java EE 5 Enterprise Architect edition part I but all of that does not appear in my profile

Posted by guest on June 20, 2011 at 04:03 AM PDT #

Guest, I am not sure what profile you are refering to, but if you took these exams at Prometric, they will not appear in your Pearson VUE profile at pearsonvue.com/oracle. Once all certification history is uploaded, you will be able to view these certifications in your profile at certview.oracle.com. Please do not try to access your account in CertView yet. The records are not yet available. We will make the announcement on this site when the records will be avaliable and provide instructions on how to authorize and access your account. Regards,

Right now my history regarding the OCPJP SE 6 exam isnt available on CertManager. I have created as instructed the Pearson Vue Account. I do not have account on CertView. In few days I am planning to give Introduction to SQL 9i IZ0 007 exam. So is it ok to create an account on CertView or I have to wait till all data regarding the previous Sun exam is available on Oracle?

Posted by guest on June 23, 2011 at 11:53 PM PDT #

Guest, you do not actually create an account on CertView. You will go ahead and register for your 007 exam using the web account that you have created at personvue.com/oracle. Once you have taken the exam, the results will be transmitted to CertView within 48 hours. At that time, you will go to certview.oracle.com and authorize your account using the full name, email address, Oracle testing ID and city from your Pearson VUE web account that you created. At that time, you will be able to access your CertView account where you will see the 007 exam result. Your Java certification will not show up in your CertView account right away. These records are still being uploaded and tested. Soon, your Java certification will also show up in your certification history. Regards, Brandye Barrington

Hi,

I was able to see my certification records on certmanager.net/sun. These certifications are

- CX-310-093 Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 6 Enterprise JavaBeans Developer Certified Expert Exam.
- Sun Certified Web Component Developer for the Java Platform, EE 1.4.
- Sun Certified Programmer for the Java Platform, SE 5.0

After oracle migration of Sun certifications from prometric to pearson, I’ve registered on pearson and on certview.oracle.com.

Now on certview.oracle.com, I can not see record for :

- CX-310-093 Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 6 Enterprise JavaBeans Developer Certified Expert Certification, achieved on May 30, 2011

But on certview, I can only see two certifications records :

- Sun Certified Web Component Developer for the Java Platform, EE 1.4.
- and Sun Certified Programmer for the Java Platform, successfully SE 5.0

I would like you to help me to restore my CX-310-093 Java Platform, EJB 6 Developer Certified Expert Exam certification record.

Thanks

Dear Guest,
As mentioned in the CertView announcement, only certification history was uploaded to CertView. Exam history was not uploaded - except in cases where candidates had taken Part I exam at Prometric and need to take Part II exam at Pearson VUE. At this time, your 093 exam history will not show up in CertView. However, your EJB certification should show up in CertView. Are you sure that your EJB exam was taken under the same Prometric ID as your other certification exams? This could be the cause of the issue. Please contact suncert_ww@oracle.com for further assistance.

Brandye Barrington
