FAQ: Sun Certifications and Oracle-Branded Certificates

0399C1.jpg
As mentioned here in the blog last week, we are answering a series of FAQs over the next couple of weeks here in the blog to help clear up some lingering questions. One big question is around replacing Sun certificates with Oracle-branded certificates. In response to some candidates who were concerned that they would need to have their certificates replaced: the good news is that no - there is not a need to replace or update existing certificates.

Candidates who have earned a Sun-branded certification prior to September 1, 2010 will retain their Sun-branded certification title and certificate. Your current Sun certification title will continue to be recognized under the Oracle certification program and will be valid without expiration.

Although we do not provide Oracle-branded Certificates to existing Sun Certificates holders, we do intend to provide an upgrade path to Oracle certification titles in the coming months. All future program requirements will be available through the Oracle Certification Program web site.
