Hands-On Course Requirement: Applicability

Hi Everyone,

Recently there has been some confusion regarding the need for partner-related candidates to meet the hands-on course requirement for tracks that require it. I thought it would be wise to clarify this point on the blog. A recurring question that we have been getting is:

Question: Do partner candidates need to meet a hands-on course requirement?

Answer: Yes. In order for a person to become certified they must meet the certification requirements for the track that they are pursuing (as listed on the Oracle certification web site). Regardless of candidate type - partner, customer, employee, etc. - all of the certification requirements for a track must be met. Partner-related certification candidates must therefore meet the hands-on course requirement if the track requires it (i.e. they are not exempt from any of the requirements for any given certification).

Thanks!

I have completed my OCP course but I still didn't receive my OCP certificate. Its asking for the completion of hands-on course requirement which I don't know how to do that.

I have done my OCP certifiation (ORACLE DBA 9i) in year 2009.

Help me... I am getting fed up with this after paying a hefty amount this I don't deserve this.

Syed,
I'm not entirely sure what the full details of your issue are. Are you indicating that you already hold the 9i DBA OCP certificate and you are upgrading? Or are you indicating that you've completed the 9i exams but have not submitted the course completion certificate?

If you are pursuing Oracle DBA OCP certification, a training course is required. Once you have passed the required exams, you will need to go to pearsonvue.com/oracle and submit a course form. This form provide to us the details of your training so that we can verify the details and grant the certification. If you've passed all the exams and your certificate is being held up because of the training course, simply go to pearsonvue.com/oracle and submit the course form with the training details for verification.

Once the details have been verified, your certification will be granted.

If you need further assistance, please contact Oracle Certification Support http://bit.ly/KMsuH3.
