Oracle Database 11g Certified Master (Full) Exam To Begin Mid-2010

Now that the new Oracle Database 11g Certified Master Upgrade Exam (one-day practicum) has been released, Oracle University is focusing on the development of the more thorough two-day full OCM exam.

On December 7, 2009, Oracle Certification released the [one-day] upgrade exam, which provides a path for those already certified as OCM on Oracle9i or Oracle Database 10g to upgrade their certification to Oracle Database 11g Certified Master.

Candidates upgrading their OCM certification to 11g via this 1-day upgrade exam do not need to first upgrade their OCP certification. You will instead be granted the 11g OCP certification along with the 11g OCM certification once you have passed the necessary OCM upgrade exam (and any additional required exams), and completed the Course Submission Form.

Release of the full OCM exam is expected during mid-2010. For more information on the new upgrade exam, visit the Oracle Database 11g OCM Upgrade Exam announcement page.

Hi Fred, Very good question! This exam was delayed a bit and our web updates have not caught up with the updated info. At this time, our official status on the 2-day 11g OCM exam is that it will be released in early 2011. Hopefully earlier than later! Regards, Brandye Barrington

Gopinath, I think that you first need to do a little more research at certification.oracle.com. You will see that there are several OCA certifications available. Your first step will be to choose the certification path that you want to follow. Then you will be able to view the exam topics for the required exams. Regards, Brandye Barrington

i would like to get prepared for 11g OCM full 2-day exam.
However the exam topics under the exam info page
http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=41&p_org_id=&lang=&p_exam_id=11gOCM#3
is very brief. As I understand for 10g version of exam, there are lot more details required than the exam topics posted on info page.

How do I get more details of the scope of the 11g exam?

Posted by guest on February 21, 2012 at 01:18 PM PST #

The exam topics are provided just to give you an overview of the topics covered on the exam. They are typically not very detailed. This gives you the opportunity to prepare and develop as a DBA rather than just preparing for an exam. I would suggest that you review the exam topics and identify the areas where you feel week, then plan your required courses accordingly.
