Hi, If I have Oracle 10g OCP, how do I upgrade to Oracle 11g OCP? Do I need to attend a course to do that? Thanks!

It's actually just the "Oracle Database 11g: New Features for Administrators" exam (1Z0-050). Here is a handy link to the upgrades page.

Hi Gaurav – the exam data will not update on our website until the final production version of the exam goes live (anticipating the end of this month). If you take the exam right now, it would still be the beta version and hence you would not receive an immediate score. Keep an eye here on the Oracle Certification Blog for the live 1Z0-053 release announcement, at which point you will be able to take the final exam with immediate scoring and pass/fail status. Good luck! —Harold

Hi I have taken 10g RAC Administrators hands-on Training in past. Now I am planning to go for OCP. Could you please let me know if I can go for 11g OCP based on 10g Course or I need to go for 10g OCP only and then upgrade. Thanks

Tushar,
The 10g training will not count for the 11g certification. You can view all the courses that will count toward 11g DBA OCP certification by checking our website at certification.oracle.com. You will probably be better off to pursue the 10g certification and then upgrade your OCP certification to 11g.

Shoaib,

Vinayak,
I commend you on your decision to follow certification. The certification that you follow depends on your current area of interest and skills. There are many options: SQL, DBA, Developer, Java, etc. . .

I suggest that you start by having a look at our website certification.oracle.com to see what certifications are available. You can select the 'View All Certifications' link to see everything that is available.

Regards,
Brandye Barrinton
