Digital Badges Modernize Certification Verification, Making Oracle Certificate Download Unnecessary

Brandye Barrington
Sr. Program Manager

As technology advances, credentialing programs must be agile and keep up.

Five years ago, we were excited to announce the release of electronic certificates. Rather than waiting 4-8 weeks to receive a printed certificate in the mail, that may never arrive, or may arrive damaged, candidates could simply sign in to CertView, download the certificate and print it when needed. Even better, they could send a digital file or send secure, digital verification through Certview.

Five years is an eternity in technology years! Times have changed. Technology has changed. CertView has changed! Digital badges are now widely accepted and often expected as certification verification. Candidates can provide secure verifiable digital badges on social media, in email signatures, on websites, and on digital resumes. Now, sending an electronic pdf file, or sending verification through email seems out dated.

Digital badging is becoming the industry standard. Oracle is proud to be helping lead the way.

Learn more about Oracle Certification digital badges.

What else can you do in today's CertView? You can:

  • Check your exam results.
  • Claim your digital badge.
  • Track your exam history.
  • Track your certification history.
  • Check messages and alerts that Oracle Certification has sent about your credential or about the program.
  • Access a dedicated site to order Oracle Certified merchandise.
  • And yes, you can still download your ecertificate, download your logo, and verify certification to a 3rd party if needed.

    Hello,

What should justify for the recruiter or for a manager that, that eCertificate, you have printed is valid?

And I would like to know as well, if after sending the eCertificate, that will be all or you should normally send another hard certificate to us?

Thanks in advance for the reply.

    Guest,

In addition to the eCertificate, you can provide official certification verification through CertView.oracle.com in the Publish Certification To A 3rd Party tab. You can also request a printed copy of your certification by following the instructions provided in the eCertification notification email.

    Michael,

Please formally request the printed copy of your certificate using the process outlined in the eCertificate notification email. If you need assistance, you can contact Oracle Certification Support http://bit.ly/KMsuH3.

    Hello,

I have passed the OCA exam on 12 november 2013 but i have not yet received my OCA certificate on my address, Kindly guide me from where should i request the certificate.(I am not finding any link on oracle for requesting the printcopy of certificate)

  • Brandye Barrington Tuesday, February 11, 2014

I'm not sure which exam you passed in November. If you only passed 1Z0-051, you have not yet earned a certification. You can go to your account at certview.oracle.com and check the Certification Activity tab to see if a certification has been granted yet. If a certification has been granted the eCertificate will be available for download in CertView.

    hello sir,

i have one doubt in certview.i completed my oca exam in 2013.How can i get my oca certification easily.....

  • Brandye Barrington Wednesday, February 19, 2014

You can go to certview.oracle.com and download your certificate.

If you only completed one exam (for example 051 or 007), you may not have completed the certification requirements yet. Please have a look at certification.oracle.com to ensure that you have completed all the requirements in your path. If the certification shows up in CertView, then you have completed all the requirements in your path and you should be able to download the certificate.

If the certification does not show up in CertView, then you have not completed all the requirements in your path, or your requirements were not completed under the same Oracle Testing ID. In that case, you'll either need to pass the remaining exam in your path, or request to have your IDs merged (pearsonvue.com/oracle/idmerge).

    Regards,

    Brandye Barrington

    Hello sir,

I completed my OCA certification exam . But I didn't get hard copy of my certificate.

  • Brandye Barrington Monday, August 25, 2014

Did you complete all the exams required for your OCA certification? Many OCA certifications require 2 exams in order to become certified. Take a look at your CertView account and and determine if the certification is listed in your Certification Activity section. If it is not, then you may not have completed all your certification requirements, or your requirements were not all completed under the same Oracle Testing ID.

    Brandye Barrington

I registered for OCA exam, in the Order status section its saying order received, and that email will be sent soon regarding further payment details, however, I haven't yet received any emails saying 'Your order has been placed, and the steps to do the payment'. Kindly help me regarding it.

    Thanks and Regards

    Hi,

I gave Oracle 1Z0-043 exam but still didn't get e-Certificate of 'Oracle Certified Professional'. What should i do?

    Thanks

  • harshal Tuesday, May 26, 2015

I have two oracle accounts (corporate and personal).

I have given my exam 1z0-478 which is mistakenly linked to my corporate oracle account by me. I want to link it to my personal account. Kindly suggest

  • guest Tuesday, May 26, 2015

    Harshal,

You will need to update your profile at pearsonvue.com/oracle with the email address you wish to use.

If you do not want your certifications associated with your corporate email address at all, you'd also need to update your oracle.com account to reflect your personal email address. After updating your oracle.com email address, you'll need to contact Oracle Certification Support http://bit.ly/YpaA7i to have the update made in CertView and then you'll need to re-authenticate your CertView account the next time you login.

    Hi ,

I have completed my OCP 11g , i have recieved my ecertificate and i am waiting for my hard copy now,

I am planning to write 1z0-038 now, will i get another certificate saying oracle certified r12 apps administrator??

also i have seen people with pocket size ocp cards from oracle, will i get that in the success kit , which i am supposed to get in few days,

what is the process to apply for tha card?

    regards,

    Sachin

  • Brandye Barrington Wednesday, June 3, 2015

    Hi Sachin,

For your 11g OCP, you will receive the ID card with your printed certificate.

Regarding the Apps DBA Admin certification, I think you mean the 238 exam? You will receive another certificate for that certification if you complete the requirements. This is a professional-level certification, so you will also receive the ID card for this certification when you request the printed certificate.

    Regards,

    Brandye Barrington

    Hello,

I have done the Java SE6 certification.

I did not receive the hard copy but it is showing in e certificate view.

Can you tell me the procedure to get the hard copy of the same.

  • Brandye Barrington Wednesday, June 17, 2015

When you earned your certification, you should have received an email with instructions on how to receive a printed copy of your certificate. If you no longer have that email, please submit a request to our Oracle Certification Support team http://bit.ly/YpaA7i and they will resend the email.

    Hi sir,

i have completed, 1z0-061 and 1z0-144 exam for oca (pl/sql developer associate). how long it will take to update my exam history tab and download eCerificate.

It is written allow 48 hours

    Thanks

  • Brandye Barrington Monday, July 13, 2015

Did you take both exams using the same Oracle Testing ID? If you have more than one Oracle Testing ID, you will need to get them merged. You can do that at at http://pearsonvue.com/oracle/idmerge.

Take a look at your account at certview.oracle.com and see if both exams show up. If they do not, it is likely that you'll need to have IDs merged. If both exams do show up, but the certification is not showing up, then you will need to contact Oracle Certification Support http://bit.ly/YpaA7i for assistance.

  • Raja Wednesday, September 30, 2015

    Hi There,

I have completed my 10g admin-1 [IZO-042], 10g admin-2 [IZO-043] couple of years back. Does completing IZO-051 [ 11g SQL fundamentals] get me OCA , OCP certifications from ORACLE UNIVERSITY ?

As IZO-007 is expired I am not sure which exam I need to take to get the 10g OCA,OCP certificates. Please help me here.

    Thanks,

    Raja

  • Brandye Barrington Thursday, October 1, 2015

    Hi Raja,

10g certifications are no longer being granted. I'm sorry, but it is no longer possible to earn this certification. If you want to earn certification, you'll need to follow the 11g or 12c path.

    Did you pass exam 007?

  • Mahesh Monday, November 30, 2015

    Hi,

I want to give OCP Java SE7[1Z0-804] exam. But I find that in order to get certificate i also need to pass OCA[1Z0-803].Here are my few doubts:

    1. If I gave 1Z0-804 exam first and suppose I pass this exam, what confirmation would I receive:

eCertificate/Hard Copy of certificate/exam score sheet/some other confirmation that I passed this exam?

    2. If I gave 1Z0-803 exam only and suppose I pass this exam, what confirmation would I receive?

    3. If I gave 1Z0-803 exam first and then 1Z0-804, will I receive two different certificates or a single one?

    Thanks in Advance.

    Regards,

    Mahesh

    Hi all,

i obtained OCA 1z0-803 exam, but i still cannot access the certView to view the results. Although i received an email saying:

Congratulations on earning your Oracle Certification credential!..

Does this mean that i passed the exam?

    Thanks

  • guest Tuesday, December 8, 2015

If you've recevied an email indicating that you have earned your credential, it does mean you've passed the exam.

You can contact Oracle Certification Support https://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP for assistance with CertView access.

    Mahesh,

Apologies for the delay in responding. Your comment was with a group of comments that were automatically marked as spam. I just discovered these.

    To answer your questions:

    1. If I gave 1Z0-804 exam first and suppose I pass this exam, what confirmation would I receive:

eCertificate/Hard Copy of certificate/exam score sheet/some other confirmation that I passed this exam?

    - You will be able to access and download your score report from certview.oracle.com upon passing this exam.

    2. If I gave 1Z0-803 exam only and suppose I pass this exam, what confirmation would I receive?

    - If you only pass 803, you will earn the Java SE 7 OCA certification and you will have access, in CertView, to your score report, the eCertificate, and your digital badge.

    3. If I gave 1Z0-803 exam first and then 1Z0-804, will I receive two different certificates or a single one?

    - You will receive a certificate for each certification earned. You will receive OCA for passing 803 and OCP for passing 804 and completing all the requirements for OCP.

    Regards,

    Brandye Barrington

    Hi,

Mistakenly, i have given that email id which is not working any more and have given an exam . And now i am not able to see my result.plz help.

  • guest Thursday, January 14, 2016

Sorry for the delay. We are catching up from the holidays. I hope that you were able to get this resolved sooner than now. For the benefit of others who have this question:

    - If you entered the wrong email address in Pearson VUE, simply update the email address in Pearson VUE, wait one hour and you should be able to access your CertView account.

    - If you entered the wrong email address in your Oracle.com account, you'll need to go to my.oracle.com and follow the instructions there to update your email address. Then contact Oracle Certification Support https://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP and let them know that you've updated your Oracle web account. They will be able to help you get your account authenticated.

I have passed my all three exams(IZ0-051, 52 and 53) of OCP. what should I have to do next to achieve OCP(Oracle 11g certified administrator) certificate in soft/hard form. Here, i am going to access Certview.oracle.com path, but not showing OCP certificate.

Is there any form need to submit to achieve OCP certificate? (if yes then please give me the url of form submission)

  • guest Wednesday, February 3, 2016

    Farid,

Have you completed training? Your 10g OCP certification was not issued because you did not submit a training course. Training was a requirement in that path. If you did complete 10g training, I recommend that you contact the Oracle Certification Support team and request an exception to allow you to submit the training now and receive your 10g OCP, then you'll upgrade to 11g OCP by passing exam Oracle Database 11g: New Features for Administrators | 1Z0-050 https://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=652&get_params=p_exam_id:1Z0-050&sc=WWOU15043965MPP001C002.

If you did not complete 10g training, you'll need to complete 11g training and submit the course form https://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=99&sc=WWOU15043965MPP001C002 and then pass exam Upgrade Oracle9i/10g OCA to Oracle Database 11g OCP | 1Z0-034 https://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=652&get_params=p_exam_id:1Z0-034&sc=WWOU15043965MPP001C002.

I am asking for how will it take to receive my OCA Certificate after passing my exams?

I have completed and passed my exams on 9th March 2016

    regards,

    Jimmy Mosses

  • Brandye Barrington Tuesday, March 22, 2016

You access CertView with your Oracle.com login info. If you go to CertView.oracle.com, you'll see the option to create an Oracle.com account. Don't create a new account, but if you go to the link, you should see instructions for retrieving your login info.

Jimmy, your eCertificate is in certview.oracle.com. You will only receive a printed certificate if you requested one using the process outlined in the congratulations email you received upon becoming certified.

    i completed my 1Z0-051 Oracle Database 11g on 9 april 2016.

so my question is , am i going to get an eCertificate ??

if not will i get both of them , i mean that of OCA and that of SQL together

once i pass the OCA exam ??

  • Brandye Barrington Monday, April 18, 2016

You have not earned a SQL certification. You've passed the first exam in the path to the OCA certification. Once you pass the next exam, you'll receive a certificate for your DBA OCA certification. Congratulations on passing the SQL exam.

    thank you

  • Brandye Barrington Tuesday, April 26, 2016

It is most likely that you have multiple testing IDs. Can you check to see if you took your 051 exam using a different testing ID? You will need to contact Pearson VUE to have the IDs merged. They will likely be able to help you determine if you have two IDs and what they are.

  • prakash Wednesday, July 6, 2016

    Brandye,

Fist of let me thank you for the guidance you are providing for Certification queries.

I did complete my 29-AUG-07-1Z0-942, 01-MAY-09 - 1Z0-043, 30-JUN-16 - 1Z0-060 with same Oracle Testing ID. I am able to see all these three in my Exam History tab and able to download my Score report for 1Z0=060.

Can I get the e-certification or printed copy for 1z0-060 exam. Just to inform, I did not undergo any Oracle Authorized training, so no course submission form available with me.

So, still I am eligible to get the e-certification or Course submission form is mandatory to get the e-certification. Please advise.

Thanks in advance for your time.

    Regards,

    Prakash

  • guest Wednesday, July 6, 2016

I downloaded my certificates using certview, the OCA and OCE was in good quality for print, however, the OCP quality was low quality in resolution for print or view, also training on demand certificate was very very bad resulution quality, I even requested hard printed copy of my training on demand certificate, and the certificate resolution was also bad resultion, I don't know why Oracle doesn't care about the quality of their certificate resolution quality, certificates look like unprofessional at all.

  • Brandye Barrington Wednesday, July 20, 2016

Guest, regarding last name, You will need to use the name that is on your government-issued ID. If there is no last name on your government issued ID, then you can include your name without a last name, but if there is a last name on your ID, you'll need to include it in your Pearson VUE profile. The name you use in your PV profile must exactly match the name on the ID you will present on test day. If your ID only contains one name and no last name, please contact Pearson VUE (www.pearsonvue.com/oracle/contact) to find out what your options are for the required last name field.

Bayulus, if you've completed your OCA exam(s), you can view your certification and print your certificate in certview.oracle.com. If you've requested a printed copy of your certificate and it has not arrived yet, please contact Oracle Certification Support https://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP. If you have not requested the printed certificate but would like to, please contact Oracle Certification Support.

Prakesh, Unfortunately, if you did not complete training, you were not issued the 10g DBA OCP certification. You passed the wrong exam to upgrade to 12c DBA OCP. In order to upgrade from 10g DBA OCP to 12c DBA OCP, you'll need to pass exam 067 and complete relevant 12c Database training.

Guest, regarding the certificate print quality. If your OCP certificate is low quality, please contact the Oracle Certification Support team https://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP. Those should be high quality files. Regarding the training certificate, I'm sorry that I cannot assist with that. Please contact Oracle University and they should be able to help https://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=225&sc=OUNV160511P00006C0001.

    Hello Sir,

Will I receive a certificate for passing 1Z0-051 exam?

  • Brandye Barrington Friday, August 5, 2016

    Hi,

You will not receive a certificate for passing this exam. By passing this exam alone, you do not earn a certification. This exam is the first step to earning a couple of Database certifications. Good luck with your certification path!

    Regards,

    Brandye Barrington

  • guest Thursday, October 13, 2016

    Hi Brandye,

The middle name is not reflected on the certificate. However, in the application form, the first, middle and last names have been filled. My query is:

    1. Is the middle name not reflected by mistake or is it the normal procedure of Oracle not to include the middle name in the certificate?

    2. What should be done if in future, any employer refuses to acknowledge the certificate citing the absence of the middle name?

    Regards,

    Dheeraj K. Shetty (B.A., L.L.B)

  • guest Tuesday, October 18, 2016

    Hi Brandyn,

Will there be a problem if the middle name will not be displayed on the certificate? Also, how can the candidate convince the employer if he refuses to acknowledge the certificate citing the missing middle name?

    Regards,

    Dheeraj

  • Brandye Barrington Wednesday, October 19, 2016

    Hi Dheeraj,

Sorry for the delay in replying. This is a misalignment between Pearson VUE and CertView. Unfortunately, we do not expect this to be changed any time soon. If you want a middle name printed on your certificate, you can contact Pearson VUE and have them help you update your name in your PV profile.

You can include both First Name and Middle Name in the First Name field and leave the Middle Name field blank. This will allow the middle name to be printed on the certificate. I hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Brandye Barrington

  • Brandye Barrington Wednesday, November 2, 2016

    Hi Tauseef,

I'm not sure what you mean by the online certification. If you've completed the training and passed the exams, you hold the certification.

Abdul, If you have passed the OCP exams, you'll need to pass the OCA exams and submit training in order to earn the certification. Certification will be awarded once you have completed all the requirements.

I have already done my OCA and earn my certification but now i am preparing for my OCP 11g exam and almost ready BUT I was told by a friend, in order to get my certificate after passing OCP exam,it is Mandatory to enroll and complete training classes from oracle or any accredited institute.

    My question is

    1. Can i register and take the OCP exam now and register for the required training classes at a later date (By end of the year or so). Will Oracle issue my 11g OCP certificate ??

Can you please clarify this for me because i am not in a position and can not afford to pay $2000 for training class but atlease i want to clear the 11g OCP exam for now.

You clarification will be really appreciated.

    Regards

    Jaanan

    Sir,

The problem is I am unable to get through CertView Authentication interface to view my test scores. The Email id and Testing ID that I enter are correct, still it prompts for Invalid attempt and gets locked after 3 attempts everyday.

Further, the exam is shown as successfully 'TAKEN' in the Exam History menu of Pearson VUE.

Please help resolve the issue so that I can view my certification scores.

    Regards,

    Sai Charan Maktal

    Jaanan,

You can take the exam now and complete the training later. You will receive the certification once you have completed all requiremkents

    Sai,

I'm sorry that you have been unable to access your exam scores. The Oracle Certification Support team will have to manually authenticate your account. You should receive their feedback within 24 hours.

    Hi Brandye Barrington,

I have appeared for OCA Exam (052) in december. An email from oracle sent to me and part of it is shared in this message.

My address was already confirmed and the link provided in email just redirect to certview homepage.

My query is now that is there any specific procedure to apply for OCA Printed Certificate to deliver or It will get delivered automatically to the address provided in PearsonVue/certview account. And what was available till 31-December.

"To request a hard copy certificate, you are required to log onto your Pearson VUE Profile and confirm your mailing address. Once your address is confirmed/updated in your Pearson VUE Profile, please request a hard copy of your certificate using the online request form. This request form will be active till 31-Dec-2016. .You should expect delivery of your certificate approximately 4 weeks from the request date."

    Hi Team,

I wanted to know if on giving OCP programmer 2 exam (1Z0-809) do i need to attach somewhere my OCA certifcate or how will the registartion ensure that I have cleared the pre requisite exam for OCP exam as till voucher purchase last stage it nowhere is asking for me any pre-certificate for OCA?

  • Brandye Barrington Wednesday, March 29, 2017

Sarmad, We stopped sending printed certificates on December 31, 2016. You can download and print your certificate in your CertView account. You can also provide certification verification through the 'publish credentials to a 3rd party' link in CertView, or you can send your digital badge that is also accessible through CertView.

Guest, regarding 809 exam, you simply need to register for the 809 exam under the same account as the 808 exam. You do not need to provide proof of OCA. Once you pass the 809 exam, certification will be granted. You will be able to access the certification through CertView.oracle.com.

    Hi team,

I have taken Oracle Taleo Recruiting Cloud Service 2012 certification back in year 2014 from my previous employer. I was registered to the certview.oracle.com using my previous employer's email. However, now I would like to request a printed certification to be sent to me but I have lost the login access. How can I proceed with this?

    Thank You.

    Regards,

Ashutosh, if you have 12c OCA, and you have passed exam 063, you will still need to complete a 12c DBA training course and submit the course form.
