Complete Your Oracle Database 10g Certification Before it Retires in March 2015

Brandye Barrington
Sr. Program Manager

The Oracle Database 10g exams and credentials listed below retire on March 1, 2015. If you have partially completed a 10g Database certification path, complete the remaining requirements before March 1, 2015 to avoid having to start over with a new certification path. Completing a certification path includes passing all required exams, taking any required training and submitting the course form. If your certification path (as noted on the track page) requires submission of a course form, certification will only be granted after you have submitted the form.

Schedule your 10g exams well before the retirement date to allow for an exam retake if one is needed. The 14-day retake policy will be enforced. Visit the Oracle Certification Website for more information on this retirement.

Please i want to know, if the question for the exam, is going to base on the curse outline alone, and no other questions, is going to be attached to it, like oracle architecture and so on.

  • Brandye Barrington Friday, September 26, 2014

The exam topics for each exam are listed on the exam page. Click on the exam links above to navigate to the exam pages where you can view topics.

The focus for OCM exams is not on 11g. Unfortunately, that means fewer 10g OCM events scheduled. I hope that you can find an event that will fit your needs.

    Happy New Year !

I have taken the following 2 courses in Community college Dallas --authorized by Oracle

    1Z0-042 Oracle Database 10g: Administration I

1Z0-043 Oracle Database 10g: Administration II

Now I am Preparing to take the Test. As we all Know that the Time is very short for me to Pass ALL the Test. So What are my options ? --

    1. Will Oracle extend the time to Complete my Tests ?

    2. Will Oracle allow me to count 10g courses as the required Training and let me take the online test for for 12c

1Z0-062 Oracle Database 12c: Installation and Administration and

1Z0-063 Oracle Database 12c: Advanced Administration

I know that things changes ---But It is very sad to see that oracle is changing Policies without much concerns for Hard Working People.

I am fine if Oracle says that they will give me 10g certification as and when I pass the Test. But to retire a test does not make any sense. The Knowledge never retires. My 10g knowledge remains worthy for 10g Database as long as the 10g is installed and working .

Please advise me after giving due consideration to my request.

    Warm Regards

    JK Sharma

  • Brandye Barrington Monday, January 26, 2015

    JK,

You will need to complete the exams in your certification path before the retirement date. I am sorry that this is a hardship for you. These 10g certification paths have been available for many years. We are very sensitve to our candidates who have spent or are spending a considerable amount of time and money to prepare for certification exams, this is why we gave 6 months notice for these retirements.

    Regards,

    Brandye Barrington

i am a registered candidate of oracle university and it is in 10g and also certified as Oracle database sql expert. Now can i register for 11g exam (OCA and OCP)?.

    Regards

    NKS

  • Brandye Barrington Friday, February 13, 2015

Yes, you can move to 11g.

If you have 10g DBA OCP, you can upgrade to 11g DBA OCP with exam 1Z0-050. If you do not hold the 10g DBA OCP certification, you will need to take an 11g course in order to earn the 11g DBA OCP certification.

Training is not required for OCA, but is required for OCP.

    Regards,

    Brandye Barrington

  • OE Tuesday, February 17, 2015

    Dear:

I've attended the OCM 10 training from WDP.But I can not register the exam due to it will expire.

My question is that do I still need to pay for the exam even if I don't register to take it?(I've paid for training and exam when I begin to take the OCM training.)

    Thanks in advance!

  • Brandye Barrington Tuesday, February 17, 2015

    OE,

Typically, you pay for the exam when you register for it. If you are not planning to take the exam, you will not need to pay for it.

    Regards,

    Brandye Barrington

Please I have a 10G OCA certificate and since you would be retiring the OCP exam would like to know if I need to begin from 11g OCA or if I could write the 11G OCP

    Thanks

  • Brandye Barrington Monday, February 23, 2015

If you have 10g OCA, you can upgrade to 11g OCP by passing exam 1Z0-034 and completing 12c or 11g training. Or you can upgrade to 12c OCP by passing exam 067 and completing 12c training.

You can get more info on our website http://bit.ly/1wgVel6.

    Hi

I have completed my oracle 9i course in authorized training center and completed 01z-007 exam in the year 2007. If i directly take 10g exam of 042 & 043,before it retires, can i get the OCP 10g certified?

  • Brandye Barrington Tuesday, February 24, 2015

Unfortunately, your 9i course will not fulfill the course requirement for 10g certification. You will need to take a 10g course.

Since the 10g certification is retiring and it is 2 versions behind the most current version. And since you will be required to take additional training, I suggest that you go ahead and takd 11g or 12c training and go for a current version of certification that you won't have to rush to earn, and that will remain active longer.

    Regards,

    Brandye Barrington

    Hi,

    I am OCP 9i certified.

Since the upgrade for 10g is retiring in few days will I get OCP 11g if I clear 1Z0-050 exam?

Do I have to undergo any classroom training to be OPC 11g certified?

    Regards

I am having 10g OCP and i want to upgrade to 11g OCP, please confirm what is the last date until I can go for the upgrade exam.

    Thanks

  • Brandye Barrington Monday, March 2, 2015

    Fareed,

You will need to upgrade to 11g or 12c by March 1, 2016.

  • Brandye Barrington Monday, March 2, 2015

    AJ,

Sorry for missing your comment earlier. If you want to upgrade to 11g DBA OCP from 9i DBA OCP, you'll need to pass exam 055. I hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Brandye Barrington

  • OE Friday, March 13, 2015

    Hello Brandye:

    As your reply:

    "OE,

Typically, you pay for the exam when you register for it. If you are not planning to take the exam, you will not need to pay for it."

I've contacted with WDP for asking them to return the exam cost for OCM 10g.But they still don't give any feedback to me.It lasts a long time.

Could you help to let me know is there any method to deal with this case?

  • Brandye Barrington Friday, March 13, 2015

    Hi OE,

I'm sorry for the issues you are having. I don't really have very much experience with WDPs, but I do know that they are independent training facilities - usually thru a college, university or trade school. Any fees that you paid to the WDP will need to be addressed directly with the WDP.

If you are not getting any response from your school, I would recommend checking with the WDP manager in your region to see if they can assist. You can find a list of WDP managers here https://workforce.oracle.com/pls/wdp_ekit/rd_psp_contact1.

    Good luck with this issue.

    Regards,

    Brandye Barrington

My 10g OCP certification has been expired. Am i eligible for " Upgrade Oracle9i/10g OCA OR OCP to Oracle Database 11g OCP

    (1Z0-034)"?

  • Brandye Barrington Friday, October 30, 2015

If you hold the 10g DBA OCP credential, you can upgrade to 11g DBA OCP by passing exam 1Z0-050, or you can upgrade to 12c DBA OCP by passing exam 1Z0-060.

    Regards,

    Brandye Barrington

  • Brandye Barrington Friday, October 30, 2015

    Satish,

Did you earn your 10g DBA OCP credential? Did you complete the training and submit the course form for verification? If not, then you did not earn the 10g DBA OCP credential and you are not able to upgrade.

There is a very slim possiblity that, if you have now completed relevant training, you could contact the Oracle Certification Support team http://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP and ask if it is possible to still get the 10g DBA OCP credential if you submit the relevant course details right away.

    Brandye Barrington

Claim and share your badge from Oracle

Your badge is still waiting for you

We noticed you haven't accepted the badge for Oracle Database 10g Administrator Certified Professional - Version Retired that was issued to you on 18 Jul 2012.

what is this is this required

as u said in last comment i already received exam certification & 10gOCP card from oracle..what should i do next please suggest.

  • guest Friday, November 6, 2015

    Satish,

Claiming your badge is not required. The digital badge is a new benefit offered by the Oracle Certification program. It is an easy and secure way for your to share your certifications on social media.

If you don't want to claim and use the badge, you don't have to, but it's a great benefit and I recommend it!

    Satish,

If you have the 10g DBA OCP credential, you can upgrade to 11g DBA OCP by passing the upgrade exam 050. However, check in certview.oracle.com first to be sure that the 10g DBA OCP credential was awarded to you.

  • Felice Meneses Wednesday, January 6, 2016

Hi, I have 10g DBA OCP. May i know when is this cert retiring? And when is the deadline to take the exam to keep my cert active? Is it Mar 1, 2016 or later is also possible?

  • guest Tuesday, January 12, 2016

    Felice,

Your certification will become inactive on March 1, 2016. You will still be able to upgrade after that date, but if you have not upgraded before that date, you will lose access to your eCertificate, your digital badge and the ability to verify your certification through CertView. You will regain those options after you've upgraded, even if it's after March 1, 2016.

    Regards,

    Brandye Barrington

  • Brandye Barrington Monday, February 15, 2016

If you didn't submit your course form for 10g OCP before the deadline, you can contact the Oracle Certification Support team and request an exception and see if they will grant an exception and accept your training and grand your 10g OCP now.

    Hi ,

I am oracle 10G OCP certified. Now as per oracle policy certification is going to expired on March-01-2016 . So, now i am planing to upgrade to 11g-OCP exam which is Izo-050. so, suppose if i am going to give exam on 16th-March-2016 then My 10G OCP certification is going to invalid or after pass the Izo-050 exam both certification are active and valid under same oracle id ? or i need to give/clear exam before 1st-March-2016 ? then only my 10G certification is going to be valid. also please confirm expiry date is 01-March-2016 or 31-March-2016 ?

    Thanks

  • Vaibhav Kansara Friday, February 19, 2016

    Hi Team,

    I have completed 10gOCA on 2008.

For upgrading to the OCP11g,i have checked the certification path and in that i have to take first training and then after i am able to exam of OCP and get certificate.

So want to know that how many minimum training day need to be attend for eligible for OCP.

  • guest Friday, February 19, 2016

The 10G certification will become inactive on 01-March-2016, which means that you will no longer have access to logos and eCertificates and will no longer be able to verify certification to a third party through CertVew. You can still upgrade after that date. Once you upgrade, your 10G certifications will be reactivated and you will regain the benefits of certification provided through CertView.

Vaibhav, there is a three-day minimum for training. You can find the list of relevant courses on our website https://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=653&get_params=p_id:52#tabs-4&sc=WWOU15043965MPP001C002. • Brandye Barrington Wednesday, March 22, 2017

Oracle Database 10g Certification retired last year in March. This certification is no longer available. You will need to go for 11g or 12c. It is strongly recommended that you go for 12c since it is the most current certification available. Unfortunately, you will not be able to use your 10g training to fulfill the training requirement. You will need to complete 11g or 12c training in order to earn 11g or 12c certification.
