Change in Certificate Policy for Retired Certifications

Brandye Barrington
Sr. Program Manager

Do you hold a retired certification? If so, starting September 1, 2015, your certificate will be available only via eCertificate in CertView.

Of course, official certification verification remains available through CertView.

  • Go to 'Certification Activity.'
  • Select 'Publish Credentials to 3rd Parties.'
  • Select the certification(s) you wish to verify.
  • Enter the recipient's email address.
  • Select the check box.
  • Publish.
  • The recipient receives two emails - 1) a secure URL and 2) a password. The secure URL and password are available for 5 days for official verification.

Need a printed copy of your certificate? Simply download and print the eCertificate file.

Keep your Oracle Database Certification active in order to maintain access to your eCertificates and official verification for 3rd parties.

Reading your note, I am *guessing* that the policy change is that Oracle will no longer mail physical copies of retired certifications. I've never asked for a physical copy of any of my certificates after the initial one, so I'm no positive that my interpretation is correct.

    Hi Brandye,

Could you confirm it only applies to retired certifications, not certifications for the just passed exams?

  • Brandye Barrington Wednesday, September 2, 2015

Yes - we will no longer mail physical certificates for retired certifications, but the eCertificates will still be available in CertView.

Yes - this only applies to retired certifications.

I am Oracle 9i OCP certified.

My certification will be inactive status after November 1, 2015.

    If I take examen 1-Z060 or (1-Z067+training), for example , at December 15, 2015:

    - Would my certification reactivated, and upgraded to Oracle 12c OCP?

    - The same question: if a certification goes to the state of inactive, is inactive a perpetual state, or is inactive until the certification is upgraded to a version of database with the active status?

    Best Regards

If you do not upgarde by November 1, you'll still be able to upgrade after that date.

    Hi Brandye,

Thank you very much for your valuable answers.

I'm finished the 10g OCP exam ,but I'm Not took the submitted Course which was required to be OCP officially.thus, when I open my CertView page I found the OCA certification logo only.To fix this , I took submitted course (TOD - Multitenant Configuration Course 12c) and I submitted the course in Pearson VUE ,but nothing change !

    My questions:

    - Is possible to be 10g OCP officially ?

    - What is available exam for my case to be 12c OCP ?

    Thanks in advance

The deadline to submit the course has passed. You can contact the Oracle Certification Support team and discuss the possibility of an exception.

    Hi Brandye,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Sure,I'll contact them ,but in case of the exception not allowed,

they will deal with me as an OCA 10g Certified then the upgrade will be through "1Z0-067" Exam ?

Until which date the Upgrade will be available ?

    Thanks in advance

Yes, if the exception is not approved, you can still upgrade via the 067 exam and required training.

I have done 10g OCP on 2010. Certification Status is showing as Inactive. can i make active and get the certificate downloded alone for 10g.

    Hi Ravi,
You can reactivate your certification and regain access to certificates by passing exam 1Z0-060 to upgrade your certification to 12c OCP.

You need to bring your certification current.

I can't publish my certview to 3rd party.
please tell me step by step about publishing certview.

  • Brandye Williams Barrington Monday, June 10, 2019
    Hi MD,
I apologize for the delay in responding. If your certification is marked as inactive, you won't be able to publish your certification to a 3rd party in CertView.

Do you still need assistance with this issue? If so, please let me know. Be sure to tell me what certification you have.
