Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse Provisioning and Initial Setup FAQ

This blog goes over some of the provisioning and Initial Setup questions that are frequently asked for Fusion Analytics Warehouse (Was - Oracle Analytics for Applications).
 

 

1.How do I reset the password for the FAWService user in Oracle Applications Cloud?

2. How do I find the URL for Oracle Analytics and the details for Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse for my instance?

  1. Sign in to the Oracle Cloud Console
  2. Open the navigation menu.
  3. Under Solutions and Platform, click Analytics, and then click Analytics Apps for Fusion. You see the service instances page displaying the Analytics URL and the details of the Autonomous Data Warehouse created for your Oracle Analytics for Applications instance

 

 

3. I have access to Oracle Analytics for Applications, why can’t I configure and run the data pipeline activation plans?

Ensure that you are assigned the Functional Administrator or Service Administrator system role. This role allows you to configure and run the data pipeline activation plans.

4. How do I configure the parameters for Pipeline and Reporting?

  1. Sign in to your Oracle Analytics for Applications i
  2. Open the Application Navigation menu and click Console.
  3. Click Data Pipeline.
  4. Follow the steps listed in the Configure Oracle Analytics for Applications Data chapter in Administering Oracle Analytics for Applications.

5. I have set the Pipeline parameters and Report parameters and activated my data pipeline, can I still make changes to them?

 

   You can make changes; however, they aren’t reflected immediately.

  1. For the Pipeline parameters – After changing, you must reset the data warehouse and reactivate the functional areas. The steps are covered in Question #6.
  2. For the Report parameters – After changing, you must refresh the data.


6. How do I reset the data warehouse?

  1.  Sign in to your Oracle Analytics for Applications instance.
  2. Open the Application Navigation menu and click Console.
  3. Click Data Pipeline.
  4. Click Pipeline Parameters.
  5. Click the Reset Data Warehouse menu option.

  1. Activate each of your data pipeline activation plans.

 

 

7. How do I connect to a different Oracle Applications Cloud environment?

  1. Identify the new Oracle Applications Cloud environment.
  2. Sign in to the Oracle Cloud Console.
  3. Open the navigation menu. Under Solutions and Platform, click Analytics, and ick Analytics then Click Apps for Fusion. On the Instances page, select the applicable compartment.
  4. Click the instance that you want to update and then click Update Fusion Connection

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. In the Update Fusion Applications Credentials dialog, enter the new URL and the new password for the FAWService user, if required.
  2. Test the connection.
  3. Click Save Changes.

 

8. Following a Production to Test refresh on the Oracle Application 
Cloud environment, are there any mandatory tasks I need to perform after this?

  1. Follow the steps for updating the Oracle Application Cloud URL, except retain the URL but update and save the password.
  2. Reset the data warehouse and reactivate the pipeline activation plans.

 

9. How do I activate the functional modules for Enterprise Resource Planning or Human Capital Management?

  1. Sign in to your Oracle Analytics for Applications instance.
  2. Open the Application Navigation menu and click Console. Click Data Pipeline.
  3. On the Data Pipeline page, under Applications, click Enterprise Resource Planning or Human Capital Management.
  4. Configure the pipeline and report parameters.
  5. Create the data pipeline activation plan and choose to either schedule it or run it immediately.

10. What are the pre-requisites for Enterprise Resource Planning?

In the Oracle Application Cloud instance that your Oracle Analytics for Applications instance connects to:

  1. Ensure that Financial categories for Natural Accounts are mapped. Without this mapping, some of the data (such as P and L number, Revenue, and Cost of Revenue) won’t match between Oracle Application Cloud and Oracle Analytics for Applications.
  2. Ensure that you have configured the Key flex field segments in your Oracle Application Cloud instance.
