3G + PAN + Bluetooth + Mac = Priceless!

I moved to a phone that supports 3G on the Cingular / AT&T network..and what a pleasant surprise. First off let me say that 3G access on the phone is excellent with measured speeds of 700kbps...very respectable and more than adequate for real web surfing/access and even my Slngbox streams from my home TV with no latency issues at all ...very sweet..however what was really cool is using the PAN (personal access network) profile of bluetooth and my mac to provide my own “wireless” network. Very cool to be online sans cables on my Mac in airports and hotels....etc.....if fact I used last week while we transited to and from Lake Tahoe...(my wife) was driving and I was online the whole way.
Usually I spend $9.95 in airports to use T-Mobile to work on email while waiting for flights...and in old style hotels where you have to pay for internet access...sometimes that can run from $10.00 per day to $25.00 per day in places like Russia..,,,now for email and web surfing I can use the $39.95 per month unlimited data plan I have with Cingular / AT&T...pretty sweet deal....now don't get me wrong one could always do this with bluetooth or cables in the past..but what is different is the ease of use of PAN and the MAC...and most of all the 3G speed.
Check out below the measured speeds I experienced on my mac over bluetooth while in my car while driving to tahoe.
And how easy it is to establish the connection on my mac (my phone name is Charles Beckham)
