Oracle South Africa 2015 Graduate Programme Open Day

Guest Author

We at Oracle South Africa couldn’t express what a pleasure
it was to host the Open Day for the 2015 Graduate Programme. We hope this day inspired all
future candidates that will soon have the opportunity to join the red team!

The open day took place on the 9th of October 2014 and
although we were excited to meet the prospective candidates, there was no
telling how the day would go. The day began with a few blank stares, some chatter
about which universities they were enrolled in, obviously some friendly rivalry
about which school was the best and some debate on why anyone would willing
choose to study Applied Mathematics. The day commenced with the floor being
open by our first speaker Zuko Mdwaba, General Business Technology Senior Sales
Manager, he gave a great presentation about the history and predestined
innovative future of Oracle. The candidates were then introduced to Belinda
Douglas, Recruitment Director and our Human Resource Director Thozama Nene. Who
gave our potential candidates a full overview about our recruiting process,
what they can expect to get out of oracle given that they show initiative and
lastly the valuable impact oracle had and continues to have within the
community. For example the Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School, a school which
was built by Oracle in collaboration with the Department Of Education. Projects
like this is only illustrate a fraction of how far Oracles passions extend.

we couldn’t possible imagine the excitement and intrigue our
prospective graduate candidates felt to be welcomed with so much enthusiasm
into the oracle environment, even though it was only for the day
. Well that’s
at least for the moment, some of these faces are sure to return filled with
anxiety, confidence and maybe an over compensated amount of Eau de parfume for
what will seem like one too many interviews.

To our prospective graduates, Oracle was happy to host you
and we want to leave you with this final thought. We at oracle are invested in skills
development and we can only hope what you learn during the 12 month program prepares you
for a full-time role in the global technology environment!
