By Maria Sandu on May 24, 2013
1. Please introduce yourself and your current role at Oracle.
Hi! My name is Shahd and I am a Sales Intern at Oracle Saudi Arabia. I hold a Bachelor Degree in Information Systems from Prince Sultan University and I have joined the ECEMEA Intern Program in the Core technology Sales team for the Public Sector.
2. How were the first few weeks @Oracle?
The first number of weeks was filled with excitement as I was mainly discovering the place and meeting a lot of people who were kind enough to give some of their valuable time to sit with me and help me with my questions. Also, these first few weeks gave me the chance to really get to know the place and its people which made me more at ease. So in short, these weeks were helpful, informative, and enjoyable.
3. Is there anything different from what you expected to find at Oracle?
Yes, as a fresh graduate I was anxious and worried about a new workplace focused environment. It was a fresh start from the four years I spent in studying so I didn't know what to expect exactly. But I've found that Oracle has a great work atmosphere and is filled with talented, collaborative and helpful people.
4. How can students maximize their chances of getting an Internship @Oracle?
I recommend students to get more familiar with Oracle and its products and to take some Oracle University training. They should also consider attending Oracle events and networking with Oracle employees and partners. It’s highly important to stand out of the crowd!
