Meet our Interns: Dudu, Presales Intern in South Africa
By Maria Sandu on May 17, 2013
1. Please introduce yourself and your current role at Oracle.
My name is Duduzile, I’m a young South African woman fresh out of varsity and I studied Bcom Finance at the University of Johannesburg. I am currently an intern at Oracle in the Pre-Sales Applications Business Unit.
2. How were the first few weeks @Oracle?
My first week at Oracle was exciting and nerve nerve wracking at the same time. Exciting because it was great to be part of such a prestigious company and nerve wracking because it was a new experience and a new environment with new people. Fortunately Oracle did not make us feel like new interns who knew nothing, but instead they made us feel like family and welcomed us with open arms so the nervousness didn’t last for long!
3. Is there anything different from what you expected to find at Oracle?
The “Open Work Space” working environment was not what I had expected to find. I was pleasantly surprised to find that most employees worked in an open work space, which made it easy for us to approach and interact with our managers and mentors.
4. How can students maximize their chances of getting an Internship @Oracle?
Students can maximize their chances of getting an internship at Oracle by including their strengths on their CV and participating in as many activities at Varsity as they can. Also try to keep up to date with Oracle’s activities either through social media or visiting their website every now and then.
