A Day in the Life a Social Media and Branding Coordinator

As I arrive in the morning, I turn my computer on and grab a cup of coffee while I’m waiting for it to start up. Then it’s straight to the emails.I usually list whatever tasks are required from my colleagues in a notebook and set about prioritising them to be done during the day, unless of course there are any urgent requirements. Then its’ onto social media.
Twitter and Facebook
I have installed the Tweetdeck application on Chrome, which is an indispensable tool. I can view pretty much anything anyone is saying to us on twitter via this one location. Usually, I go to our Facebook pages first and check the updates since the previous day. I’ll respond to these comments and messages and then move to publishing our daily post on each Facebook page.
To help me post interesting content on a daily basis, I have set up a calendar of ideas for posts on each day during the week. For example, on Monday, I share our weekly blog across platforms. On Thursday I try to post something humorous and so on.
There are usually phone calls during the day. Some of these are meetings with colleagues across EMEA discussing projects and upcoming events. Another aspect of my job is to ensure appropriate branding and presence at these events. This includes branding materials and merchandise, as well as organising the logistics of having these materials delivered to the relevant events and people.
In the afternoons, I might usually spend my time researching new social tools and creating articles for recruiters about how to use these. Oracle is quite a social work place and creating a more efficient social environment is a main goal of my research into these new tools.
In the evenings, I usually do my more creative work. The office can be a little quieter which gives me a little more room to spend time designing competitions or branding material for use with our social media pages. I’ll usually respond to any comments or messages which have been left since the morning on one of our many pages on facebook, Linkedin, Pinterest, Google plus or Twitter.
