Growing up together in Oracle

We really appreciate that we can join in Oracle and pass through an Asia-Pacific-wide Graduate Program. In this program, we do not only participate in structured training, but also have chances to work on real business challenges across our lines of business.

 What do we learn and achieved in this program?

 There are three critical stages in this program: foundation, rotation and placement. Foundation gives us an orientation to understand the Oracle policy, the responsibilities of different LOB and the culture of Self-Service. After that a detailed and useful training are provided during our rotation, which also include the product knowledge, the professional industry analysis and the introduction of call skills. When we back to the placement, the hiring manager was really patient and kindly to provide variety kinds of opportunities on putting us into real calls.

What is more, in our daily work, we mostly focused on following up market events, BDC program and profiling. As a lead generation representative, what we need to know was how to attract and to communicate with customers via telephone, and also, highly controlled that how to grasp the requisite product knowledge quickly and how to cooperate with colleagues, both business development consults and sales.

"> What challenges do we need to face to and overcome?

Firstly, as a LGR, the most important challenge is we have to under the severe pressure from customers, sales and even managers, and of course the tough quota. In this situation, all the things that we should focus on are endeavoring to explore more leads via various phone calls. Each of us is attempting to finish the target successfully. Secondly, arranging reasonable time and making effective plans are also a challenge to the junior LGR or graduates. We have tried our best to make each call plan perfectly at the beginning of the quarter, and then be familiar with industry trends which can contribute to each call in a high and professional ways. Finally, effective communication and cooperation are really crucial points for us, especially from different LOB. However, fortunately, the previous trainees suggested us in a good way and helped us to adapt the work flows and daily affairs. 

What are impressive things after join in Oracle?

We experienced the deeply friendships during the period of Graduate Trainee Program even though we never know each other before. The fact is that this is an organization that really cares about its employees, and one of things we’ve really liked about the graduate program is that it has enabled us to build up a network of colleagues. Many of these trainees have become real friends, not just inside work but outside it as well.

In fact, if accumulation and development are what you’re looking for, then this is a great place to be. Oracle is a large company, and it offers you a great platform to a graduate and as a graduate trainee, you are very well be respected, so senior people willing to give you their time and attention.
