Business Relationship Consultant role @OracleDirect

My name is Dominik, originally from the Frankfurt Area,
Germany and now working and living in Dublin. I joined Oracle in April 2013 as
a Business Relationship Consultant (BRC) and would like to share my experiences
over the first good 9 months.

After my previous work experience within the financial
sector where I received the “Bachelor of Banking” degree, and the online
marketing industry as well as having studied a year in the US, I was looking
for a new challenge for my international career. Oracle offered me the
opportunity to work in a multicultural environment and to develop my
professional skills further, so I was impressed. I chose Oracle because I
believe it provides me with an unrivalled opportunity to work in an exciting
and challenging environment
whilst affording excellent progression
opportunities. During the application process you get a clear picture of
Oracle’s huge organization and the wide array of possibilities offered but also
what is expected of you. This might sound a bit overwhelming at first, but
support is on the way. Throughout the Foundation Training and on a regular
basis thereafter you are provided with the necessary sales techniques, tools
and product knowledge to help you succeed.

My role as a BRC:

My current job is focused on generating demand for Oracle’s
Human Capital Management products in Germany and Switzerland and to find new
business opportunities via various channels, such as social media, outbound and  inbound calls, inbound chat and
outbound prospecting as a result of sales initiatives, marketing campaigns and
event follow up, downloads, web-seminars and partner campaigns.

On a daily
basis, I build relationships with HR departments to create value in the long
term and helping them to improve their HR experience (Recruiting, Talent &
Challenge Management, Team Leadership, Strategic Redeployment, Performance. In
addition, I am achieving a high level of collaboration with in-country
Marketing and Sales teams by developing and delivering against the joint strategy
with the field representatives. Speaking of colleagues, I now work in a team
with peers from Ireland, UK, Finland, Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain and
, who cover the northern and southern European markets.

love the sales aspect and feel Oracle is the perfect company and environment.
The new nurturing techniques of the BRC roles and the amount of training and
support that is available made this a great career move and I have been
promoted after 8 months into a Senior Business Relationship Consultant role
