Your post was the guide I used to setup unit testing on my previous project. I really appreciated the thoroughness of it. After using the folder structure you described above for several months, we ended up migrating our test cases to a separate test project with the same package structure as the original project. We then added a dependency in our test project referencing the original project. This solution still allowed our test cases to access package private classes and methods and it seemed to work very well with the JDeveloper default project properties.
