Blogging Considered Harmful?
By mduigou on Sep 13, 2004
It seems that keeping a diary may be harmful to your health. Re-reading your diary is even more dangerous. Ok, so blogging isn't quite the same as a diary. For one thing most people don't share their innermost secrets nor their heartbreaking angst in their blogs (And we can be all glad for that). I first heard of the study of health outcomes of diarists on CBC's As It Happens, but since you can't (yet) link to audio content, here's an article from The Herald : Dear Diary: the experts tell me you could be bad for my health So just to be safe, don't read your own blog. And for the weak of constitution, take special care to never read other's comments on your blog. It's for your health. p.s. : Ok, so the "Considered Harmful" title is a crappy use of Dijkstra's famous meme, but it's the first time I've ever used it so I'm under my alloted quota. Honest!
