[活动预告]北京OpenSolaris用户组第二十八次会议(2009年7月23日星期四)

北京OpenSolaris用户组第二十八次会议将于2009年7月23日在清华科技园创新大厦A座7层会议室举行。这次会议将由来自Sun Solaris质量工程团队的经理以及工程师和大家探讨OpenSolaris的网络项目Crossbow,以及OpenSolaris的测试流程和工具。OpenSolaris的Crossbow项目为用户提供了构建虚拟化网络和网络资源管理的工具,这是OpenSolaris 2009.06中的主要新特性之一。目前,Solaris/OpenSolaris网络项目(如Crossbow项目)的测试工具和自动化测试套件的开发都是在Sun中国工程研究院的Solaris质量工程团队完成的。

1. OpenSolaris Testing Process and Tools
(OpenSolaris测试流程和工具)

Speaker: Eric Kozlowski(pron: koz-'lau-skE) / 演讲者:柯朝伟

Eric manages a Solaris Quality Engineering team here at ERI. The team focuses on test development and automation related to Solaris networking, core I/O, storage, and FMA. Eric has been at Beijing ERI for almost 5 years. In his spare time, he enjoys running, swimming, and cooking. Eric is also an active member of the Sun ERI Toastmasters club.

Eric是Sun中国工程院Solaris质量工程团队的经理。他带领的团队负责Solaris网络,内核I/O,存储和FMA的测试开发和自动化测试工作。Eric在北京的Sun中国工程院已工作5年,在业余时间,他喜欢跑步、游泳和烹饪。Eric同时是Sun中国工程院Toastmaster俱乐部的核心成员。

Eric is going to speak in this section about how his team contributes to the quality of the OpenSolaris operating system.  He will talk about the tools and testing that the Quality Engineering organization uses to ensure the high quality of OpenSolaris.

Eric在这个话题中会讲述他的团队为保证OpenSolaris的高质量所做的工作,同时他会详细介绍OpenSolaris的测试流程和使用的工具。

The Solaris Quality Enginering (QE) team leads the testing of the Solaris operating system by writing test plans and procedures.  The team develops assertion-based tests using a standardized open source test harness, TET, which is used in multiple test groups at Sun.  The team develops automated test suites, does test suite code reviews, and performs pre-integration testing and analysis.  The QE team integrates tests into a test suite repository, and delivers and supports functional tests into ON PIT.

Solaris质量工程(Solaris QE)团队负责Solaris操作系统的测试工作。它不仅为Solaris提供测试计划,测试过程,还负责使用开源测试框架(如TET)开发基于Assertion的测试套件和测试工具。同时Solaris测试过程中涉及的自动化测试开发、测试套件代码review、代码集成前测试与分析、发布测试工具、为ON-PIT提供测试套件和测试支持也都由Solaris QE团队负责。

Depending on the project area, QE may focus on functional, regression, robustness, performance, stress, fault injection, memory leak, virtualization, install, and upgrade testing.  QE actively contributes to OpenSolaris projects and communities.  QE leads testing and develops open test plans, as well as delivers open source test suites.  QE has invested in the OpenSolaris Test Farm, OSTEP, and Self-Service Testing.

根据不同的项目,Solaris的测试过程涉及功能测试、回归测试、强化测试、性能测试、压力测试、故障注入检测、内存泄露检测、虚拟化环境测试、安装和升级测试等。Solaris QE团队同时也为OpenSolaris社区提供服务支持,比如发布开放测试计划、开源测试套件,同时Solaris QE团队还为OpenSolaris社区提供了Test Farm,OSTEP(OpenSolaris测试运行平台)和自助测试等服务。

2. Crossbow in OpenSolaris
(OpenSolaris Crossbow项目简介)

Crossbow(Network Virtualization and Resource Control)  provides the building blocks for network virtualization and resource control by virtualizing the stack and NIC around any service, protocol or virtual machine. It dynamically manages priority and bandwidth resources,and can provide better defense against denial-of-service attacks. In this section, we will briefly introduce the functionalities of crossbow provides and present how to setup a virtual network in OpenSolaris.

Crossbow(网络虚拟化和网络资源管理)通过网络协议栈和网卡虚拟化的方式为软件服务、协议和虚拟机提供了构建虚拟化网络和资源管理的解决方案。通过Crossbow,用户不仅能够动态配置虚拟化网络中的带宽资源和服务优先级,而且可以有效地防范诸如拒绝服务攻击之类的网络安全问题。在这个话题中,我们将对Crossbow项目提供的功能进行简要介绍,并为大家演示在OpenSolaris中如何配置一个虚拟网络。

3. Flows in Crossbow - administer bandwith control and priority for services,
   protocols and virtual machines
(Crossbow中的Flows —— 服务,协议和虚拟机的带宽控制与优先级管理)

Crossbow defines a flow as a type of networking traffic based on layer 3 and layer 4 packet headers, which can be used to identify a protocol, service, or a virtual machine. Inbound and outbound networking packets which match a flow can be enforced any bandwidth control and priority. Packet statistics can also be observed. In this section, we will briefly introduce how a flow is classified and isolated in Solaris kernel, then use command line flowadm to demonstrate how to create flows, show flows' networking statistics and enforce bandwidth control.

在Crossbow中flow被定义为基于第三层和第四层包头的一类网络流量。这些包头可以用来区分一种协议(tcp/udp/sctp),服务(端口)或者一个虚拟机(IP地址)。入栈或者出栈的网络数据包只要匹配某个flow,就可以被施加任意的带宽限制和优先级。它们的实时网络统计也可以被显示。在这个话题中,我们将简要介绍Solaris内核如何将flow分类和隔离,并现场演示如何使用命令行flowadm来创建flow,显示flow的网络统计和对flow施加带宽限制。
