engine gasket spam - don't panic

This must be the first time I have been spammed for something that may be just even remotely useful. Now I really have absolutely no need for engine gaskets but this sure does beat pr0n and viagara spam. :-)

This is what the attached mail said:

Also GameGuy has had a little trouble with BlogEd, and posted a reply on this entry. The short answer is: Don't Panic©

Hi Henrey,

As best as I can recreate it these were my steps... It was indeed under Java 6, sorry, but thats my environment because Im doing development and Netbeans Profiler requires it.

(1) Launch the JNLP, write blog.
(2) Attempt to publish, discover my settings arent set.
(3) Go to preferences and set my settings. On commit of the settings a pop-up comes up that says soemthing like "Do yo uwant to download your existing blos? Now is the right time to do it."
(4) CLick yes.
(5) Entire blog vanishes, replaced by the lqst one I wrote.
(6) Attempts to reload from the blog file hang terribly, which suggests that it wasnt written out correctly, if at all. (I never did an explicit save. I probably should have considering this is beta \*shrug\* )

Are you sure you are using java 6? If so that is a really early alpha. I think you must mean you are using java 5. That is the latest stable release.

As I said above I think that if you look into BlogEd you will find that your post is still available, just as you wrote it, and will be published exactly at the front of your blog when you press the publish button. The fact that it does not appear in the proper sequence is clearly confusing, and this really has to be fixed.

So thanks for the detailed description.

Just don't forget the Hitch Hickers Guide to the Galaxy's motto: Don't panick. :-)
