America on the nose

Americans take heed, the shine is wearing off the name of your country. As seen in this survey, Global backlash against America, people around the world no longer like what they see of your country as they used to.

Comments:

The world goes through cycles of anti-Americanism and pro-Americanism. The world was very anti-American in the 1980s due to policies such as the military buildup and resistance to the nuclear freeze movement. But steadfast opposition to the popular course, and instead focus on what was right, led to the collapse of the Soviet Union, not the nuclear armageddon the freeze advocates predicted.

Americans take heed? America on the nose? Nobody likes you? Wow.

Honestly, this blog reads like a teenage girl's whiney diary. The US certainly has its problems, but I'm sure anyone displaced from their country of origin will find issues with the differences they find in the new country. I'm sure I'd probably find as many 'problems' with things that are different in Australia if I moved there...though I think you'd likely dispute that. Police state? Please. Is the US really that much different attitude and policy-wise (internal and external) than how it was 20, 30, 40 years ago? Not really.

By the way, I'd say that California hardly counts as representative of the rest of the US, just in case you weren't aware. Things are just a bit different out there than the rest of the country. Some for good, some for bad.

Yes, America's name is hated everywhere ... until they get in trouble, then it's "please come bail us out again" !

Just like America is bailing our Iraq and Afghanistan and Vietnam and ... lets see, the only instance of America leading a successful military campaign \*since\* WWII was the skirmish with Iraq when it invaded Kuwait. As for how other countries fare, well... how many other countries fingerprint \*all\* foreigners who enter their country? Hmmm. I think that number is "0". But then Americans don't like to be told that there are issues with anything they think or do...

I strongly disagree. If that was so, why does everyone want to come here to live? I don't see people knocking on the doors of Asia or Africa to get in!
