A twenty-plus year veteran of Oracle and Sun Microsystems, Scott Dickson is a Enterprise Systems Architect and member of a team of infrastructure specialists in Oracle's North America Cloud and Infrastructure Solutions team. His primary areas of expertise are the Private Cloud Solutions with OpenStack, Oracle Solaris operating system, virtualization, and system management. Scott Supports customers across North America as they work to implement best practices within their infrastructure to support their business applications. In this capacity, Scott has been a speaker at Oracle OpenWorld several times, speaking on core infrastructure topics, leading customer and engineering panels, and leading hands-on lab experiences.
Lately, Scot has been spending his time working with Ansible in Solaris environments, working on ways to automate the deployment of Oracle database and application products.
Scott has been a Unix systems engineer, system administrator, and user for over thirty years, working with a wide variety of Unix systems across many different industries and environments.
Scott received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science from Penn State University. Scott lives in Roswell, Georgia and is an avid genealogist and family historian.
