No more ruby support is a real shame :(

Arun,

That is a great news. Can you comment if the new NB comes with WSDL and Schema editor as its predecessor 6.9.1 ?

Paul,

Ruby support is no longer integrated and needs to be supported by the community.

Mark,

WSDL and Schema editor is already getting fixed:

Paul/Arun,

A version of NB Ruby will be uploaded very soon which should make it into the plugin portal pending QA verification. So Ruby support should be available soon for NB 7.

Netbeans 7 is really slow compared to 6.9.1 . I am using windows xp. Any memory settings we need to use to speed up things?

Also, the Glassfish 3.1 bundled takes time to start much more than 3.0.1

I also agree the lack of Ruby support is a shame. When I work with students learning Ruby I've found NB the best environment to start with.

How will the community-supported Ruby be integrated? Will a student be able to select Ruby support when they download NB? Or will it be a special upgrade after installing?

How can someone tell whether a community-supported Ruby is available for NB7 before installing NB?

Venkat,

Please file issue on NetBeans issue tracker:

http://netbeans.org/community/issues.html

For GlassFish, please provide more details on your setup at users@glassfish.java.net.

Stephen,

I'll let Thomas comment on the Ruby support in NetBeans.

Stephen,

It will be something you install after you download netbeans via plugins. It is possible we could put together a full-download release at some point?
