Blogging across time
By OTN ArchBeat on Jul 09, 2008
As a former BEA Arch2Arch blogger, I am selectively migrating posts from my old blog to this shiny new one. I'm using Live Writer to do this, which allows me to assign the original publication dates when republishing old posts. This is an effort to organize these old posts and provide some context.
Where necessary, these republished posts have been revised to update product names and other information that may have been affected by Oracle's acquisition of BEA. Any such revisions were made to eliminate any confusion that might result from references to products whose names or availability have changed as a result of the acquisition.
The end result of this revision and republication process is that you may read a post that predates the acquisition, yet mentions an Oracle product. I didn't become an Oracle employee until June 1, 2008, and this blog didn't launch until July 3, 2008. So any posts dated before 7/3/08 are reincarnations of BEA Arch2Arch posts, in some cases in a slightly altered form.
