ERP – A Big Topic, A Big Webcast Planned

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a big topic. In terms of technical footprint, implementation complexity and strategic importance it’s one of the bigger ones in the enterprise computing space.

But once you have it implemented there’s not a lot more to say about it, right? It’s there and it keeps on working. Maybe…but only if your business model, geographic footprint, processes, workforce and customer-base are the same today as they were in 1999 or the early/mid 2000’s…and if they were that probably wouldn’t be a good thing.

Understanding Your Options and Roadmap Choices

Understanding your options and what’s next from Oracle in the ERP space is the topic of our upcoming webcast on Wednesday June 8 at 11am Pacific. Join Oracle and Infosys for Inside Oracle Fusion Applications: Next-Generation Enterprise Resource Planning. Whether you’re considering Oracle Fusion Applications now or just looking to stay up-to-speed on Oracle’s vision for the new standard for business the time to understand Oracle Fusion Applications is now.

By many indications the entrance of Oracle Fusion Applications—focusing for the moment on Financials, Project Portfolio Management and Human Capital Management—is giving many businesses a reason to re-examine the topic of ERP. Even organizations well satisfied with their investments in Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards are taking a look today to consider the what’s, when’s & why’s behind Fusion Applications. And while we’ve only got a little less than an hour to address the topic—this webcast will be worth watching.

Reason 1) Oracle has been speaking broadly and publicly about Fusion Applications since Oracle OpenWorld 2010—but this webcast brings a 3rd party perspective, that of Infosys—with insider access to the Fusion Applications development process. Though you don't have to be an Infosys client to benefit from their experiences.

Reason 2) Business and IT trends—ranging from an increased need for business analysis at the point of decision and the adoption of social networks for work to Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). The trends that are changing the way enterprises work and how they consider new technology for business advantage.

Reason 3) By the numbers Infosys is in a unique position. In a recent webcast preparation call with Infosys’ Mukesh Nakra, Senior Program Manager and Go-to-Market Director Oracle Fusion Applications, he shared details about the firm’s investment in Oracle Fusion Applications.

  • 1,500+ person months of Oracle Fusion Applications Co-Development Effort
  • 500+ Infosys team members are being trained on Fusion Applications every quarter
  • Infosys’ work across the Fusion Applications Suite, including specific work on integrations and migration methodologies with other Oracle Applications such as Oracle E-Business Suite to facilitate co-existence of Fusion Applications with existing investments
  • Work with Oracle Fusion Applications Early Adopter Program customers across the suite

Hot Topics

Many of these points, including more specific details around customer engagements with Fusion Applications today are the basis for Mukesh’s presentation. In addition, we spoke in detail about some of the Infosys service offerings that have been developed using their experiences with Oracle Fusion Applications. This should be a particularly hot topic as questions around set-up and migration tools are frequently asked in Oracle events and online forums like Facebook and LinkedIn that cover Oracle Fusion Applications.

Join Oracle for the entire Inside Oracle Fusion Applications webcast series, including replays of past events, or select the topic that interests you—such as Enterprise Resource Planning with our co-hosts Infosys. We hope to see you online.
