Great Week For Oracle Apps Customers
By Folia Grace on Oct 06, 2011
OpenWorld may have been a little sparse on Applications news on Sunday or Monday, but we were just getting warmed up! Tuesday we kicked it into high gear with the Applications General Session hosted by Steve Miranda, Oracle Apps SVP, and the GMs for all the product lines. Each GM went over the latest releases and roadmaps for PeopleSoft, E-Business Suite, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and World, Siebel, CRM On Demand, ATG Commerce, Agile, Value Chain Planning and Execution, Hyperion, BI Apps and Fusion Applications. Every product adding new functionality, increased industry capabilities, more integration, additional mobility apps & certifying on engineered systems. Wow! It was an information-packed session.
But, we didn't stop there! Wednesday morning was the Oracle Applications Keynote. The crowded keynote hall included 400 Oracle Fusion Applications customers and partner wearing the red Fusion Applications vests. Steve Miranda gave an overview of the Oracle Applications strategy and talked about the generally available Fusion Applications 11g release. There were some very cool mobile and extensibility demos by Chris Leone, head of Oracle Fusion Apps Strategy and Anthony Lye, Oracle CRM leader. Four Fusion Apps customers joined Steve on stage to discuss their business goals and why they selected Fusion Applications. We really appreciate the support of our customers, Thank You. Of course, now everyone wants a red vest...you started a trend! To see the keynote video, go the Oracle Media Network: Oracle Apps Keynote at OpenWorld 2011.
And if that wasn't enough...Larry Ellison gave the closing keynote on Wednesday talking about the design concepts of Fusion Applications and he announced the Oracle Public Cloud and the Oracle Social Network. Many people commented that Larry did an excellent job and they really enjoyed hearing his passion for these products and seeing him demo the Oracle Public Cloud. And we won't stop with San Francisco. Starting next week, we go on the road for Oracle Applications Days around the world. Personally, I'll be heading to APAC and EMEA to meet with Oracle Applications customers and partners.
