Chart Your Course With Oracle Applications Tour Update - Paris

Earlier in the year I'd blogged about the topic of customer and partner outreach in 2011 and how that was going to be an even bigger theme this year.

This outreach takes many forms:

• There is, of course, Oracle OpenWorld--which just opened up its call for papers for the 2011 show. Get your submissions in now because the open call for papers closes on March 27th.

• I also look back at last month's extremely successful virtual tradeshow. More than a thousand customers, prospects and partners joined Oracle Applications experts online for a morning of sessions covering topics ranging from Oracle Fusion Applications and E-Business Suite to PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Siebel and CRM On Demand...and more. The entire show experience is now available on demand. There are very few other places on the net to get this much information on so many Oracle Applications topics.

• And, if you're looking for quick, relevant and timely updates the Oracle Applications page on Facebook is a great resource. "Like" us today. www.facebook.com/OracleApps

• Finally, despite the number of internet channels and annual conferences Oracle has, many still find our local events to be the most effective way to make connections with Oracle experts, get their questions answered and network with local peers. Our Chart Your Course with Oracle Applications World Tour is no exception.

Our latest update comes from France where Oracle SVPs Alain Blanc and Anthony Lye hosted nearly 400 attendees at the SHANGRI-LA Hôtel in Paris. In addition to sharing the latest plans and strategy for the Oracle Applications product lines he demonstrated Oracle Fusion Applications and spoke to the audience about how this next-generation product line works with and adds strategic value to existing applications investments.

Following the keynote, Hervé Auchère, Delivery Convergence Director, Société Générale, Pierre Pouyfaucon, Senior Executive, Accenture and Animée par Laurent Dechaux, VP Applications Oracle France participated in a round table discussion covering the role of information technology in delivering a superior customer experience.
The event also allowed attendees to seek out information on subjects of their choice and ask questions in a more intimate setting. Breakout sessions covered a range of topics including business intelligence, ERP and taking advantage of software as a service (SaaS) with Oracle.

Finally, Local luminaries Claude Onesta and Commandant Virginie Guyot joined the event to share their experiences with the crowd during the cocktail hour. Mr. Onesta is a former French handball player, the current head coach for the French national handball team and the only coach to have held European, world and Olympic champion titles simultaneously. Commandant Virginie Guyot is a fighter pilot of the Armée de l'Air who achieved an historical first when she was appointed leader of the Patrouille de France, becoming the first woman in the world to command a precision aerobatic demonstration team.

Making connections with you, our customers and partners is our priority. Please seek out any of the resources above, find an Oracle Applications World Tour venue near you, or contact your local Oracle Applications representative.

Stay tuned for more.
