[Forms to APEX] Creating a Workspace

Before creating the workspace, it's important to mention that you would need to have at least one APEX environment. Explore the options in Getting Started with APEX. Once you have your APEX environment ready, create your first workspace. If you're using apex.oracle.com you've already requested a free workspace, so you don't need to follow further steps. If you're using On-premise or Cloud creating a workspace is slightly different, so let's review both ways:

On-premise

  1. Sign in to Oracle Application Express Administration Services using the Instance administrator account and password created.
  2. Navigate to Manage Workspaces button.
  3. Click Create Workspace
  4. Enter the following:
    1. Workspace Name
    2. Workspace Description
  5. Click Next.
  6. Confirm your selections and click Create Workspace.

To create a new user:

  1. Sign in to Oracle Application Express Administration Services using the Instance administrator account and password created.
  2. Navigate to Manage Workspaces button.
  3. Click Manage Developers and Users.
  4. Click Create User.
  5. Enter the following:
    1. Username
    2. Email Address
    3. First Name
    4. Last Name
    5. User is a Workspace administrator
    6. User is a developer
    7. App Builder Access
    8. SQL Workshop Access
    9. Team Development Access 
    10. Set Account Availability
    11. Password
    12. Confirm Password
    13. Require Change of Password on First Use
  6. Click Create User.

Cloud

  1. Sign in to Oracle Application Express Administration Services using the administrator password of your Autonomous Database
  2. Click Create Workspace button.
  3. Enter the following:
    1. Database User
    2. Password
    3. Workspace Name
  4. Click Create Workspace.

To create a new user:

  1. Sign in to the Workspace you just created, enter workspace name, user and password.
  2. Navigate to Administration button.
  3. Click Manage Users and Groups.
  4. Click Create User.
  5. Enter the following:
    1. Username
    2. Email Address
    3. First Name
    4. Last Name
    5. User is a Workspace administrator
    6. User is a developer
    7. App Builder Access
    8. SQL Workshop Access
    9. Team Development Access 
    10. Set Account Availability
    11. Password
    12. Confirm Password
    13. Require Change of Password on First Use
  6. Click Create User.
