Are you looking to migrate your Oracle Essbase applications, artifacts, and users from Oracle Analytics Cloud, or even Oracle Essbase 11g on premise? To keep up with the speed of the future, the time to act is now.
When you deploy Oracle Essbase, you get a multi-dimensional database management system (MDBMS) that provides a multi-dimensional database platform upon which to build analytic applications. Moving your current configuration to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure via Oracle Cloud Marketplace allows you to take advantage of not only the ability to create complex financial models and integrate with Business Intelligence tools for data visualization, but also take advantage of accelerated provisioning and deployment benefits found in cloud implementations as well as the power of Oracle Cloud Marketplace to bring your own license and federate your applications.

You could say my own journey with Oracle Essbase probably mirrors your own. I had an affection for business, and when I got into high tech, I became interested in business reporting and analysis tools. I worked with a few companies in the past on technical programming, focusing on databases. I found that Microsoft Excel could only take me so far. Then one day, I came across Oracle Essbase.
There was a learning curve, but the payoff is one of the best multi-dimensional analysis tools out there, very feature rich, and you can still use the Excel interface, but leverage Smart View to perform ad hoc analysis.
One advantage now, for on premise customers, is that if you have a very old offering, you can easily move up to the Oracle Essbase interface and functionality. And when we say old, we mean Essbase 11g (18.104.22.168)—released in 2009.
As shown in the graphic below, migration can take place in one of three ways: from Oracle Analytics Cloud – Essbase on Oracle Infrastructure Cloud managed by you; Oracle Analytics Cloud – Essbase on Oracle Infrastructure Cloud managed by Oracle; and Oracle Essbase 11g on premise.
These migration scenarios are covered in the following Oracle Essbase documentation to help guide you through the process.
Essbase: Use the Essbase Switch Documents
Oracle Switch documents were designed to enhance and facilitate migration efforts. This Essbase Switch document is the latest of three Oracle Essbase runbooks that target specific migration paths. It’s a lite version of the Essbase administrator document, and focuses on deployment and migration from Oracle Analytics Cloud – Essbase. See Migrating Essbase Instances from Oracle Analytics Cloud to Essbase 19c on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure via Marketplace at: https://docs.oracle.com/en/database/other-databases/essbase/19.3/emigr/index.html
To deploy an instance of Essbase on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, use the Oracle Essbase administration document. This complete guide covers Essbase 19c deployment and migration, as well as other administrator responsibilities.
