The information revolution is disrupting the workplace and business ecosystem. To stay competitive, organizations are adapting to change with a combination of application optimization and a strong partner to collaborate with. Such is the relationship between Oracle and Cognizant.

It's easy to say organizations are required to change or respond proactively in order to be future-ready. Adding artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to data strategies allows companies to make informed decisions and respond to the fast-changing business environment. This shift also empowers departments such as finance, IT, and human resources to play an active role in creating the future organization.

Getting there is half the challenge. The IT strategy should support business needs by foreseeing future requirements. Therefore, it requires a more artificial intelligence and machine learning driven approach to data, one that benefits from systems that can learn from their own programming and adjust accordingly.

Cognizant recently implemented Oracle application services on the Oracle Analytics Cloud platform for a large American health insurance company along with their upgrade of PeopleSoft to Oracle HCM Cloud.

Cognizant enabled the reporting platform for more than 500 employees using Oracle Human Resources Analytics with modules including core HR, absence management, payroll, time, and labor. This also handled integration with other source systems to define the HR strategy and make a difference in the following ways:

  • Almost 200 thousand employees were benefited with improved and robust visualization using Oracle Analytics Cloud, which is a single source of truth for the complete HR portfolio
  • The entire Oracle-provided seeded reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) from Oracle Cloud HCM have been enabled; these were migrated from on premise to Cloud using Oracle Analytics Cloud with advanced features.
  • It helped implement HR Analytics on Oracle platform as a service, which resulted in the customer adopting a much more scalable and extensible cloud platform-based version, which has the capability to expand and allow customizations.
  • The pre-built machine learning algorithms have helped the business users to perform predictions while they perform their ad hoc reporting especially, to arrive at
  • Forecasting attrition rate
  • Identifying the right people for the right job
  • Defining strategies to retain talent pool
  • Forecasting resourcing needs based on demand
  • Effectively utilizing existing workforce

As a result, the insurance company found that it could generate reports two weeks faster than before, and it only took six months to execute the final rollout for the key modules. Some of the other benefits include deriving the complete trend of the time for that employee also in addition to forecasting the future. Additionally, absence prevention, effective and efficient claims and leave administration, and advocacy services, provide clinical support to link employees to the appropriate health and wellness programs

Oracle Analytics Cloud AI and data-driven features helped the HR professionals and employees hire smarter, work smarter, engage smarter, and adapt smarter. Recruiters benefit from inline AI and data-driven candidate recommendations that reduce time-to-fill and cost-to-hire, and help with optimal employee onboarding, immediate productivity, and ongoing career growth.

With machine learning-driven analytics, combining AI with domain knowledge helped the customer achieve KPIs in the human resources function to improve the cost effectiveness of the IT portfolio while applying innovation to drive new business and maintain competitive edge.

Enterprises such as Cognizant provide end-to-end capabilities to help clients transfer data into tangible business benefits. Cognizant remains committed to helping clients embrace an analytics-driven culture.
