Emergency Moving Archived Logs to a Backup Server

Alejandro Vargas
Technical Leader, ACS Global Delivery, Infrastructure & BigData

This script, ftparcs,  move archived logs from a production server to a backup server.

Useful for DBA's on duty that get alerts that archive log destinations is going to be full or is already full, it provides a mean to quickly solve the problem by sending the archived logs over ftp to another server with enough free space.

You will see this kind of problems on sites where the cleanup of archived log directory is based on any criteria different than a free space threshold.

Any reason you post all of your scripts as PDFs? Can you just put them online as text files?

    Hi Alejandro,
We use rsync, like this every hour:
    /usr/bin/rsync -avrz -e ssh --delete /u01/app/oracle/flash_recovery_area/DBDIST/ backup1:/u01/backup/srv-ln-edist/rman/dbdist/recovery_area/
