My first blog post

Playing with the blosxom software - it seems pretty nice so far. I'm still not sure if I like this whole blog concept, but it seems to be catching on - at least with RSS syndication you can go to one place to keep up on all the blogs instead of having to check them all out individually. (Which is the thing I hate most about all the web forums people keep setting up - I've given up on trying to participate in most of them - there are just too many and they require me to poll for new data - I'll only do that for a limited number of high-content sources - e-mail, Usenet and Slashdot are all I really stay on top of these days.)
Tomorrow's big/fun project: Putting together the new Opteron system that was delivered today. I've definitely been loving the two Opteron systems we got a few weeks ago which have been sitting in our lab - it's so nice to be able to do a full X build in 20 minutes. (When I first joined the desktop software group, I had to do builds on a SparcStation 2 that took over 24 hours, and our current Ultra 60 build machines for the Solaris 10 builds still take 3 hours, so this is a huge improvement.)
Of course, before I can do that, it's 2 1/2 hours of conference calls, and I also need to finish up the docs changes I promised to handle for the upcoming X11R6.7 release.
