Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is launching a beta of OCI Speech, an Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) service that makes it easy for engineers to add ASR capabilities to their applications. As storage is becoming cheaper while bandwidth improves, we store more and more of the world's knowledge in media such as video and audio formats. However, audio files represent locked information as users will not search through data that does not offer search means. With OCI Speech, you now have a way to gain value from your content, be it captured in meetings, calls, training videos, and more. OCI Speech will transcribe and timestamp your content, saving you from costly and time-consuming manual transcription and converting your media into text.

A simple API call or an intuitive UI

You can transcribe files stored on Oracle's Storage by using our APIs or UI. You will receive a grammatically correct transcription with a timestamp for each word in the audio file. During our beta, we will transcribe audio files in English with additional languages coming soon. To sign up, please click here.

Once you are signed up for the beta, you can use transcription to create subtitles, transcribe then use additional service such as forecasting and language to analyze call sentiment, target content for advertising, index your media folders and create a media search engine. Use Oracle’s Command Line Interface (CLI), our SDKs or the console.
