Sri Lankan Educators Attend SQL Training from Oracle Academy

Damian Haas
Regional Director - JAPAC

As a part of the partnership between Oracle Academy and the Ministry of Education in Sri Lanka, 18 educators from institutions across Sri Lanka attended training in Database Design & Programming Using SQL.  The faculty will take their new skills acquired by studying and practicing the Oracle Academy curriculum back to their institutions and their students across various computer science courses. These faculty also previously had attended similar training in Java Fundamentals and Database Foundations provided by Oracle Academy earlier in 2018.

The faculty were awarded certificates of completion from Mr. P.N. Illapperuma, Director of Education, Information & Communication Technology at the Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka, and Assistant Director Vasana Edirisuriya, both of whom have been key facilitators in bringing the Oracle Academy program to Sri Lanka’s schools and higher education colleges and universities.
