Each year the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM) recognises companies across Thailand that demonstrate excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). To be considered, a company must meet key benchmarks of CSR practices, not just through individual projects or monetary contributions, but through an integrated approach to conducting business in a way that creates long-term economic and social value.

This year, at an event held in November 2019, Oracle Thailand proudly accepted an AMCHAM CSR Excellence (ACE) Award that recognized the contribution and impact of Oracle’s benchmark program, Oracle Academy. As Oracle’s global, philanthropic educational program, Oracle Academy advances computing education around the world to increase knowledge, innovation, skills development, and diversity in technology fields. The program engages with thousands of educational institutions and educators in more than 120 countries.

In Thailand, the program supports more than 100 educational institutions and educators, helping thousands of students access world-class technology, expertly developed learning materials, and proven curriculum to help them become college and career ready.

Accepting the award on behalf of Oracle was Taveesak Saengthong, Managing Director, Oracle Corporation, Thailand. “It was a great pleasure to represent Oracle at the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) CSR Excellence Awards in Thailand, and to receive the award in recognition of the great work that Oracle Academy is doing as part of their philanthropic program within the education sector,” he said. “With digital transformation as a key goal of government and private organizations alike for strong digital economy growth, we look forward to growing this presence in Thailand and supporting the country’s workforce development objectives.”

Oracle Academy has been growing its reach across this diverse and vibrant region for over a decade, and now includes more than 5,000 regional education institutions in its Asia Pacific membership to help build the best computing education courses for their students.
