In this episode of the Oracle Academy Tech Chat podcast, host Tyra Crockett Peirce, Oracle Academy Senior Manager, North America, chats with Jim Czuprynski, Oracle Ace Director. As an Oracle database expert, Jim spends time with Tyra discussing artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on the role of database administrators (DBA), as well as the skills students need to learn if they want to secure a job as a database administrator in the changing IT landscape.

To start, Jim focuses on the latest features added to the Oracle Autonomous Database, then pivots as to the ways the Oracle Autonomous Database uses artificial intelligence to increase efficiency and performance. Jim then shares with Tyra how AI affects database security and eliminates possible attacks vectors.

Jim discusses how AI has changed the work of DBAs by eliminating previously error-prone tasks, and how it notifies a DBA if there is a serious occurrence. This episode closes with Jim giving sage advice on the skills students need to succeed as database administrators.
