Oracle Academy presents at Nigeria Computer Society International Annual Conference

The Nigeria Computer Society International Conference 2023 was a momentous occasion that brought together tech enthusiasts, professionals, and visionaries from around the world. The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) is the foremost organization for IT professionals, interest groups, and stakeholders within Nigeria. 

From August 8 to 10, 2023, Oracle Academy played a pivotal role as both sponsor and active participant in the society's International Annual Conference, themed ‘Communications and e-Systems for Economic Stability.' The conference provided a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present. Discussions were centered around the most recent innovations, trends, concerns, practical challenges they have encountered, and the solutions adopted in the deployment of e-systems. Impressively, nearly 70% of the attendees were comprised of academics, both participants and NCS members.

Bekere Amassoma, Oracle Academy Program Manager, Sub Saharan Africa, delivered a presentation on ‘Development of Skills in Emerging Technologies Towards Economic Empowerment.’ She delved into the current job market in Nigeria,  the need for emerging technology skills, examples of emerging technologies, and the benefits of and challenges in developing technology skills. She reflected on the fact that the Nigerian job market is highly competitive and constantly changing, and to succeed, job seekers and students need to stay updated with emerging technology skills.
