On September 26, 2023, 12 students from Victoria University’s Sydney campus embarked on a fascinating journey to the Oracle Experience Lab in Sydney. What they encountered there was a captivating glimpse into the world of data-driven decision-making and space exploration.

During the students’ visit, Oracle presented two exciting simulation projects: SailGP and the Oracle Red Bull Racing simulation. These simulations vividly demonstrated how data can shape strategies in real-time, creating a competitive edge. The university students immersed themselves in these simulations, learning how data can turn the tide in dynamic scenarios.

Ali Parvini, Principal Consultant, ANZ/APAC Regional Java Solutions, delivered a Java workshop for students after their Oracle Experience Lab visit. He shared a captivating example—real photos from the Mars Rover. This piqued students’ curiosity about data’s role in space exploration. It was a reminder that data isn’t limited to just Earth; it can help students explore the cosmos.

The university’s leading faculty Nader Khalifa noted, “Our visit to the Oracle Experience Lab was an eye-opener. It showed students the incredible power of data in industries like sports and space exploration. It left them excited about the endless possibilities that await in the data-driven future.”

It was a pleasure to share Oracle technologies for data-driven innovation and exploration with the next generation of bright minds. We look forward to welcoming future innovators and explorers from Oracle Academy member institutions.
