Oracle Vienna Hosts Database Event for Educators

Jane Richardson
Senior Director, EMEA

With the goal of providing an overview of current Oracle database technology features, Oracle Academy offered a one-day event for Austrian educators on February 15, 2019.

Britta Wolf, Oracle Academy Program Manager for DACH (Austria, Germany, and Switzerland), welcomed 20 teachers from several Höhere Technische Lehranstalt (HTL) institutions at the Oracle Vienna DC Tower Office.

HTL institutions are an important part of Austrian STEM vocational education, offering courses in engineering, electronics, information technology, informatics, and more. All participants are long-term, active members of the Oracle Academy program.

Presenters Marcus Doeringer and Georg Schmidt, both Oracle Cloud Platform Solution Engineers, provided insights into a range of innovative Oracle database topics, including multitenant architecture, in-memory option, and advanced data compression, and also orchestrated an interactive Oracle Autonomous Database hands-on session for the teachers.

“I really enjoyed the event, it was very informative,” said one participant.

“Very good appetizer about innovations in Oracle, especially the in-memory topic,” noted another.

Another educator said, “Very informative event, excellent speakers, extremely professional planning and implementation in a pleasant, family atmosphere.”

The participants’ feedback confirms this was an inspiring event. We sincerely thank everyone involved in making this event happen.
