Everyone might agree that this academic year has brought the opportunity for creative teaching and learning to the forefront for every educator across North America.
As Oracle’s global philanthropic education program, we have been working to expand upon our standard benefits to meet these new needs of our educators across the nation. To answer this call, we have created a slate of free webinars highlighting individuals with specific technical expertise to provide guidance and encouragement in using Oracle Academy tools for teaching and learning. Below highlights our two October webcasts.
On October 21, 2020, Danielle Ferretti, Oracle Academy Marketing Specialist for North America, and Marc Kelberman, Oracle Principal Enterprise Cloud Architect, presented a live webcast on the Fundamental Components of OCI for Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service.
Oracle has taken the initiative over the past couple of years to rearchitect the fundamental components of the first generation cloud to deliver high-performance computing resources capable of running cloud-native and enterprise-level workloads.
To keep educators up to date on the latest technology, this webcast introduced the fundamental components of Oracle Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS). Marc Kelberman focused on Oracle’s new technologies, termed Autonomous Services, that provide self-driving, self-securing, and self-repairing capabilities so faculty can highlight these technologies to their students.
On October 6, 2020, Ferretti and Senior Oracle Developer Advocate for Database Tools, Chris Saxon, conducted a lively webcast, Learning to Find Patterns in Your SQL.
SQL is a powerful language for accessing and gaining insights from data. This webcast introduced the match_recognize clause, introduced in 12c, to educators. Saxon highlighted examples to show educators how it works and how it is easier to write and understand rather than traditional SQL solutions.
In this engaging webcast, Chris featured how educators can get the best out of the Oracle Database and have fun with SQL!
