On April, 20, 2020, Saudi Arabian Oracle Academy educator members had the opportunity to attend a live webinar, First Hyperscale Cloud in Saudi Arabia is Here.

Cloud Platform expert Nizar Al Toraif let educators know that the wait to move to the cloud is over. Oracle has been deploying its generation 2 cloud infrastructure in data center regions across the world to ensure application availability. He explained that  low-latency and high-bandwidth interconnect enables zero-data-loss architectures for applications like Oracle Database and high availability for scale-out technologies like Cassandra.

The attendees also heard from Oracle experts on how to:

- Understand how Oracle cloud is different by design
- Get fast, non-blocking, predictable cloud performance
- Protect existing investments and build new, cloud native applications

Educators learned how they could access the benefits of Oracle Cloud Free Tier through the Oracle Academy Cloud Program, a free resource for Oracle Academy Institutional members.

The Oracle Academy Cloud Program provides always-free access to Oracle Cloud Free Tier, Oracle Autonomous Database, Compute Virtual Machines (VM), object storage, data egress, and other key tools so educators and students can learn, build, and explore in the cloud.

These resources can be accessed with support from the local Oracle Academy program manager and business development representative, Najla Alkebsi, who also advised members of additional resources they can access.
