Oracle Academy hosts virtual educator day for faculty in Jordan

Jane Richardson
Senior Director, EMEA

In August 2020, Oracle Academy hosted our first virtual educator day for key and valued members from top Jordanian universities.

The event was introduced by Raed Hajarat, Oracle Technology Sales Consulting Director, Country Leader Jordan – MEA, in association with our Oracle colleagues in Jordan who delivered three days of practical workshops on Oracle Cloud computing, learning how to build enterprise applications with Oracle APEX, and what Big Data analytics and data science are.  Thanks go to:

  • Ghassan Qobrosi, Sr. Solution Engineer,  Data Management & Infrastructure,  MEA
  • Salim Hlayel, Principal Product Manager
  • Mutaz Ghanem, Sr. Solution Engineer, Business Analytic.

We are grateful to these Oracle experts for sharing their time and expertise with educators.

Representatives attended from:

  • Al Hussein Technical University
  • Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan
  • Amman Arab University
  • PSD Academy
  • Tafila Technical University
  • Yarmouk University
  • The University of Jordan

In addition to taking part in virtual workshops, educators from these universities had the opportunity to hear from the Oracle Academy team about the new Member Hub, a state-of-the-art, member-focused teaching and learning portal, which offers members of Oracle Academy teaching content in one location, including:

Our members were very interested to hear that the Member Hub hosts over 350 different teaching resources, from full curriculum to Oracle Academy Education Bytes, which can be used by educators to engage students in computing, sparking curiosity while teaching critical knowledge and skills. Educators can use Oracle Academy modular curriculum and learning resources to help learners expand knowledge, develop skills, and innovate.

William McCabe, Oracle Academy Senior Director for Member Education and Curriculum Development, hosted a demonstration of the free Oracle Academy Cloud Program as well. Through the program, educators and students can teach, build, learn, explore, and develop in the cloud.

Thanks go to Ola Ramadan, Oracle Academy Country Manager, MENA, for running and organizing the event.
