Knowledge Builder webinars in Middle East and North Africa bring educators together online

Jane Richardson
Senior Director, EMEA

Oracle Academy in the MENA region remains actively engaged with key universities and their faculty members who are taking advantage of our hosted educator resources while university campuses are closed and students are learning online.

We were pleased to run a series of webinars for Institutional members with the support of our Oracle colleagues and technical experts from the Oracle Presales Teams managing the Gulf region.

Elias Bou Hanna, Senior Solutions Consultant, Core Tech Presales, for EMEA was the keynote speaker in the first virtual Oracle Academy Knowledge Builder event. This session was the first in a series of events dedicated to supporting faculty from member universities:

Higher Colleges of Technology – Oman

Sultan Qabous University – Oman

Higher Colleges Technology and Abu Dhabi University – UAE

Qatar University-Qatar

Kuwait University – Kuwait

Oracle Academy members remain keen to update their technical knowledge on subjects such as the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and APEX (Oracle Application Express), for example, and to learn how to integrate technologies and solutions into their curricula using the free hosted online and accessible resources available through Oracle Academy.

Two virtual sessions ran on April 28 and 30 covering the topics:

Members also learned more about the advantages of using Oracle Academy Education Bytes, which provide students access to short, flexible learning modules that teach new concepts and enhance existing knowledge and skills, problem solving, creativity, and learning retention.

More than 30 Education Bytes provide self-directed, diverse learning experiences at all skill levels in programming, database, data science, big data, Java, SQL, PL/SQL, Map/Reduce, R, Hadoop, and much more. All Education Bytes include a content synopsis, recommended prerequisite knowledge and skills, level of difficulty, target age group, and any required software or equipment.

Thank you to Elias Bou Hanna and to Waleed Hosny, Solutions Engineering Director, for their valuable help and support. We greatly appreciate them sharing their knowledge and expertise to engage Oracle Academy member educators and to Ola Ramadan the Oracle Academy Program manager for MENA for organizing the events.
