Teachers need robust virtual learning assets to keep students moving forward and engaged in their courses. To meet this need, Oracle Academy supports member institutions and educators by offering free, proven expert computer science curriculum, cloud access, computing teaching and learning resources, software, and more—all free and available using only a browser.
Michelle Gao, Oracle Academy country manager for Australia/New Zealand and Oceania, together with Danny Tomic, Oracle Academy program manager, recently delivered a virtual event on the new Oracle Academy Cloud Program to more than 100 educators from Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, and Nepal.
The faculty were shown how to sign up and register themselves and their students to use the always free cloud services offered through Oracle Academy, making it easy for them to teach their students database, Java and other technologies without relying on install-based software in the classroom.
Jian Li, Oracle Academy principal instructor, then went on to describe and demonstrate the range of online learning resources, including Oracle Academy Education Bytes big data and data science hands-on labs via the online resource center.
The Oracle Academy Cloud Program provides Oracle Academy Institutional members with always-free access to Oracle Cloud Free Tier, Oracle Autonomous Database, Compute Virtual Machines (VM), object storage, data egress, and other essential building blocks and developer tools needed to create applications so educators and students can learn, build, and explore in the cloud.
Oracle Academy has been growing its reach across the diverse and vibrant APAC region for over a decade, and now includes more than 5,000 regional education institutions in its Asia Pacific membership as they build the best computing education courses for students using Oracle Academy resources.
