Oracle Announces Availability of Oracle WebLogic Server 11g (10.3.6)
Last week, Oracle was pleased to announce the availability of Oracle WebLogic Server 11g (10.3.6). This release is the latest patchset in the 11g line and contains several new features. The full set of new features and certifications can be found in the What's New document.
Several interesting feature highlights:
- This release of WebLogic Server adds support for Java SE 7.
- With JMS, you can configure a JDBC TLOG store to persist transaction logs to a database.
- With DataSources, you can configure a WebLogic data source to allow a connection to set database credentials when connecting to an Oracle database and you can configure a WebLogic data source to allow a client to connect to an Oracle database through an application server as a proxy user.
- Support for GlassFish Web descriptors.
- With Web Services, Jersey JAX-RS Reference Implementation (RI) Version 1.9 is now delivered as a shared library.
