KISS of DEAD: My last day in SUN will be 15 Jan 2010

My job position was affected by work force reduction

As part of reducing actual SUN costs (as was publicly announced in October 2009) some jobs in SUNs Prague (Europe) site was canceled (you probably already see some FAREWELLs from some of my Prague site colleagues), unfortunate my job position was affected too. My last day SUN in will be 15 Jan 2010. Sad, It was really great near 5 years with all of you in SUN :-(

Wrapping actual JeOS and VM Templates stuff

I will try to wrap my experience for some most important topics of OpenSolaris JeOS prototypes and VM Templates (Virtual Appliances)creation next week, I will still be publishing them in this SUN blog, so you have them all on one place, if you will have any question about current or upcoming posts, please, send them directly to jeos-discuss@opensolaris.org.
I am not sure then blogs.sun.com will survive Oracle acquisition, I will backup VirtualGuru blog myself, but I will don't have time to recreate blog on other place, so please, copy stuff you are interesting in yourself.

Don't worry, we are community already !

Building a real JeOS OpenSolaris project and leading related community OpenSolaris Project: JeOS - Just enough Operating System was a new and exciting experience for me.
I will like to continue to contribute regularly to OpenSolaris JeOS community in my free time, of course my conditions will change:
If time permits me (I have second child, son, 3 months old) and if my technical possibilities will allow me (As fun of Virtualization I have at home powerful x86 box, but I will don't have access to SPARC SUNV4 systems any more, also my home Internet connection have just couple GB download size limit)

After my SUN leave I will switch to external blog http://virtguru.wordpress.com (I align new blog name with my OpenSolaris nick name) and you can access me by OpenSolaris account using virtguru@opensolaris.org

Moving forward

It's simple:
Grow your community :-)

PS: and for living ?
I am looking for new jog opportunity Senior engineering IT job in Prague (Preferable QA and/or Virtualization related), drop me E-mail or LinkedIn, if you will know about some actual opportunity (even back in Oracle).

Hi Rudolf,

It was fun working with you and I am sure you will be missed. Your help on some of the virtualization project is really appreciated.

Take Care,

Rudolf,

I have enjoyed your blog posts and the associated JeOS experiments that you have created. They have been very helpful to me in my own research. Best wishes to you and I am sure that we will hear more good things from you in the future!
