Always nice to meet some of our customers...

I recently had the opportunity to travel to our Oracle office in Melbourne, Australia. Yes, going to Australia this time of year meant leaving the sunny summer days of California and heading into the cold of winter. The weather in Melbourne is famous for its unpredictability -'four seasons in one day'! Good thing I had a co-worker who carried an extra umbrella!

(The single "Four Seasons in One Day" released by rock group Crowded House was written about the city of Melbourne as it is commonly known as being a city of "four seasons in one day.")

While in Melbourne I was able to meet face-to-face with some of our local UPK customers. During a breakfast session I discussed how organizations all over the world are able to speed up user adoption and mitigate project risks during the implementation and day to day operation of Oracle applications using Oracle's Solution; UPK Professional. (UPK Professional consists of Oracle's User Productivity Kit and Knowledge Pathways.)

I had the pleasure of introducing Knowledge Pathways, part of the UPK Professional bundle. I discussed how UPK and Knowledge Pathways together address some of the key challenges both of new system implementations and the ongoing training of users. In particular how we are seeing many of our customers benefit from the ability to aggregate content in a central repository using Knowledge Pathways. Click here to access the Knowledge Pathways datasheet for additional information.

This breakfast was offered to new as well as existing UPK customers so I took the opportunity to demo the new features released with UPK 3.6.1. It is always a pleasure to deliver these types of sessions in person. Seeing the reaction on our customers' faces when going through the list of new features and enhancements is priceless! With the release UPK 3.6.1 Oracle has incorporated a number of new features based on customer and partner requirement, technology, and domain expertise. Oracle UPK delivers rich new functionality to include enhancements in sound capabilities, usability, and performance. Click here to read "What's New in 3.6.1".

A special thank you to anyone who attended this session and I look forward to participating in future events and meeting more of you in person!
