Sunday, Sept. 19, 12:30PM-1:00PM - Moscone West L2/Rm 2010:
Field Report: Extended-Distance Oracle RAC 11g on Oracle's Sun SPARC Platform

Deutsche Messe began to use Oracle Database 6 at the end of the 1980s and has been using Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC) technology very successfully since 2007. In 2009 it expanded its high-availability strategy with Oracle Data Guard and completed the step migration to Release 11g. This presentation explains why Deutsche Messe uses Oracle RAC, discusses the many reasons for the upgrade to Release 11g, and focuses on the operational Top 10 aspects from a DBA's perspective.
