Sun Virtual Desktop Connector 1.0 Open Beta

We are officially "Live" for the Sun Virtual Desktop Connector 1.0 Open Beta and we would love to have you participate. Here is key information you'll need for downloading the beta software, whom to contact if you have any technical questions or issues, and a link for providing us any feedback on this product.

Sun's Virtual Desktop Connector 1.0 is the resulting product from Sun's existing Virtual Desktop Access Kit (VDAK) for VMWare and provides a mechanism for managing and accessing virtual Microsoft Windows desktops via Sun's desktop virtualization technologies such as Sun Ray Software and Sun Secure Global Desktop Software.

We would greatly welcome your feedback on this new beta software.

Please note that you will need to have specific software applications/versions installed prior to download and testing of the Sun Virtual Desktop Connector 1.0 beta software. They are:
o SRS 4.0 (for Sun Ray testers)
o SGD 4.4 (for Sun Secure Global Desktop testers)
o ESX 3.0.1 or 3.0.2
o Virtual Center 2.0.1 or 2.0.2
o Windows XP

Thanks in advance for your participation and feedback!

Quick question: Why do I need this instead of rdp and uttsc?

Hi Christian,

It's not a matter of instead. It's a matter of with. It's used in conjunction with VMWare VDI. In short, it's our VDI broker solution.

Looks good...

Is it possible to customize the cloning process? Let's say, creating ZFS Clones on a remote NFS Server....

Hi Mika,
Today the connector relies on the storage of ESX server.
